The location and that it was new and modern

The arrangement of the shower room with a separate toilet and vanity basin outside of the shower. This worked really well for two people getting ready in the morning. There was plenty of storage space for clothes. The room was big. The public baths area was beautiful and the baths were relaxing. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff who were happy to help at all times.

Location was great. Behind a small alley, but it is just a 2mins walk to Sunroad Shinshigai which is an old fashioned shopping street with plenty of food and shops. Kumamoto Castle is not that far off too, around 20mins walk I think. Room and facilities were great too. Strong hot water from the taps/shower, and a nice range of food at breakfast.

We had a bigger two-bed room on the 5th floor and it was really comfortable. Nice bed and pillows!

Best mid range hotel I have ever stayed in. Instead of the gimmicks other hotels in the market use, this hotel focuses on the room and service. Room was super well equipped and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wow an amazing hotel. right next to Kumamoto Station. There is a shopping center near it with lots of food and shopping options, The room was very comfy one of the best bathrooms / shower areas i have seen, with a huge timber bath. Separate toilet, very comfortable beds and a nice sitting area to take off and put on your shoes. the free drinks and snacks area on the 4th floor was a surprise. Only a short tram ride into the center of Kumamoto and Kumamoto Castle. Great staff.

Very clean, beautiful Kumamoto Castle view from the window, and great service! Breakfast was simple but delicious. staff were friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay there again next time in Kumamoto. Highly recommend!

Spacious room and so comfortable. Great location beside the bus terminal that got us to everywhere we needed to go in Kumamoto. Near to tram station as well. Onsen was a lovely touch!

Good place, awesome staff (as usual in Japan), average room size with all amenities you really need. Vending and ice machines available. What i really loved was the breakfast, given the price we paid for the hotel we didn't expect much, but it was definitely the best breakfast we had in 20 days trip in Japan. Much much recommended.

There was nothing that we didn't like. We enjoyed everything. Great staff, location, and hotel. Location is perfect and easy to get to from the airport. It is also very close to Kumamoto Castle. My wife and I really loved our room and the morning breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. We visited during our anniversary and they upgraded our room with one of the best views of Kumamoto Castle.

Best location. A few steps away from Kumamoto Station and tram stop. Good quality bed and bigger than most hotels.

No other hotel is as close to a train station as Hotel New Gaea! We loved the location, the room size, the friendly and accommodating staff, the 24 hour free drinks (non-alcoholic), the free alcoholic drinks during happy hour, and the free breakfast! We would love to stay there again. 😊

The public bath is amazing, breakfast has wide selection of choices and includes local dishes, and staff are also very friendly. Very close to tram station and shopping area, and easily accessible from the airport with the airport bus stopping close by.

Very convenient location and had very good room quality.

We love how convenient it was for location that you can just walk down the hotel to get everything you need and transportation was just outside the hotel. The best part is the Aircon system was working even during winter.
