Unmatched hospitality, incredible food, and a magically peaceful location - staying with Lasantha was a memorable and rejuvenating experience! After spending 3 weeks in Sri Lanka, this was hands down the best and most memorable place I stayed. Starting with the obvious, waking up to the Diyaluma Waterfall every morning is spectacular. Having easy access to dip in the lower falls pool on the property is also so good. Lasantha's amazing food, made with many fresh vegetables and herbs from his extensive garden made it exciting to eat pretty much every meal there. Bursting with flavor, you can taste the care and quality with which every meal is prepared. He's a chef trained for 12 years in Ella, and will organize a little cooking class too if you ask. The rooms are so well designed and pristinely clean - designed by his brother who is an architect. Beyond the good food, great and clean rooms, and beautiful setting, this place really has something special. The pride and ownership that Lasantha and his team have in hosting shines through and you really feel at home. Already planning my next trip back!

Super close to the waterfalls and you can go there multiple times! the staff is friendly. Very quiet with a nice view that you can enjoy from the shared facilities.

Family run business. Great dinner, good tips, wonderful people. And gosh- the view!!! If you do not mind a few extra steps to get here from the road, this is a must stay! Isolated place 3km uphill from the village.

The location is quite remote but stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The gardens and grounds are well maintained and the view of the mountains change minute by minute due to the weather and clouds. The staff is ready to answer any question and provide anything you wish. Take a tour of the tea factory, it’s short but informative!

The setting and view were absolutely stunning. Loved it. The staff and chef were amazing and so welcoming to us and extremely professional. Having a cottage to ourselves was fabulous and allowed us to really enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounds.

Staying at Daffodil Resort was a truly pleasant experience. The service was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are large, extremely clean, and comfortable, making the stay very relaxing. Its convenient location, within walking distance to the town, adds great value. Overall, a highly recommended place for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This was a real treat. There were only 4 people in the entire resort at the time, since we came at the end of Easter vacation and the begining of the wet and shoulder season. The grounds are gorgeous, the garden, wonderful, the staff was very helpful and nice, and we had an upgrade that was not short of royal: I truly thought that we entered a several-room bungalow whereas it was our room! A room with a patio and a front and a side terrasses. Monkeys playing in the trees in the morning. The nature is very present and lush and beautiful. We went on a hike which we couldn't finish, since we've discovered a new species we had never met before: leeches. My daughter freaked! But it was an experience. She very much enjoyed the pool, overlooking the valley, and I booked an ayurvedic massage, which was the best I had in Sri Lanka. The man had very skilled hands. It is a place to get lost into, it feels last the days of yore, an estate to spend peaceful days. Unfortunately it wasn't our case, since we booked only a night, thereby shortening a safari that would have been (accurately so!) too long had we stayed an extra night. So it was an stop-by in between locations, booked a bit last-minute. Our next destination was Amba Estate, one of the few existing estates rolling tea by hand, with a social purpose since it has very good labor conditions and employs the villagers, thereby creating a strong community. I would recommend as well, it's not that far, on the other side of the mountain, hence "on the way" toward Ella, where we jumped on a train to our next adventures. Thank you again for having us and allowing such a beautiful stay. I also had the best cocktail and we both enjoyed our meals!

We stayed at Villa la Maas Tota for 2 nights - and I was extremely happy with our experience! Gayashan, chef Sudagaran, Annuruda, Malinth, Salitha, Tharanga, and Kanagaraj, all were absolutely amazing - so friendly and attended to all our requests, they made sure we were comfortable and despite the rainy weather we managed to have some quality family time at the beautiful villa. The villa is tastefully designed and furnished. Watching the sunrise over the mountains was so breathtaking. Pictures don't do justice. The views are spectacular, the road getting up to the villa is a bit challenging but they have their own jeep that can take you right up to the villa. The BBQ dinner was delicious and the food that were served for all meals were healthy and well prepared. There's no wifi at the villa but I think that was the best part - it forced us to enjoy all the amenities and natural surroundings and create beautiful memories with our family! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to escape busy city life. You will feel so refreshed and relaxed after staying at Villa La Maas Tota!

Really loved this stay - the owner is very funny and friendly. We absolutely ADORED our dinner and breakfast which he cooked for us as well. He is working so hard always running here there and everywhere around the property. We had lots of space to park our tuktuk. The place itself is peaceful and quiet and was the perfect base to explore Diyaluma Falls. We also loved the room and bathroom.

The host was incredibly responsible and friendly, always ensuring that we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the delicious dinner prepared by the host, which added an extra touch of hospitality to our visit. The location, not too far from the waterfall and accessible by foot, allowed us to easily explore the natural beauty of the area. Overall, we loved every moment of our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a serene getaway.

An incredibly friendly hostess. Upon arrival, we received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a welcome drink. She even took us up the hill on her scooter to climb the waterfall from there. This was our favourite stay in the hill country. It is tucked away in nature and is extremely peaceful and very very comfortable. Lots of animals around and a stream accessible via the main property. The host Chamila and his team really made our stay. They prepared our favourite meals in Sri Lanka for dinner and breakfast and the portions are extremely generous. Communication with Chamila was excellent and we felt taken care of right from when we made the booking. Chamila gave us lots of info about the area and what to see nearby, along with helping answer any questions we had about Sri Lanka. I hope to be able to visit again soon!

Our stay here was definitely one we will never forget! As soon as we arrived we felt so welcomed by the host and his whole family, they were all incredibly generous with their space and super helpful. The eco lodge is in the most magical location, on the side of the mountain away from any hustle bustle, truly connected to nature. Waking up to the sunrise was unforgettable and a highlight of our whole time in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was delicious and generous, and we ate dinner with the volunteers and other guests too. So many lovely conversations and connections. Wish we could have stayed here longer!!

The rooms are immaculate, modern, and well-heated for the cold Haputale nights. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. It is a bit of a steep drive to get to the property, but the views are worth it.

If you are doing the Pekoe stay, stay here! This little cute homestay is all you want from a homestay experience during a multi-day hike. We had some of the best (vegetarian) food for dinner. Play games together. Made friends. Priceless true experience of staying with locals.

The place is silent. You only hear the sound of your steps and nature. The view from room is nice and the place is peaceful. The staff on duty takes all steps possible to accommodate requests. In our case, they provided us with vegan food for all meals.
