Rooms in Lao Cai

Bed was on the hard side but I loved the hot shower, AC, mini fridge, fast wifi, smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, balcony overlooking a (tiny) koi pond., elevator, lobby level cafe, etc. I used Google Translate to communicate with front desk and the girl was EXTREMELY helpful in retrieving something I left on a bus from Hanoi. For western travellers, it’s a steal.

Hard to find anything to be critical about. That Vietnamese hotel chain is a unique concept for the country , run and managed professionally. This is our second stay in a Sojo hotel and it is now on our first choice anywhere they are available. Very well trained staff, good food , nice lounge to relax, self service laundry and much more that make a real difference.

I liked literally everything. This is an affordable and very comfortable hotel, in very good condition, in a great location. And especially I liked the panoramic view out of the window overseeing the Vietnam-China border, quite interesting that you can see buildings on the Chinese side right from the hotel :)

Amazing Value & Perfect Location – Truly Feels Like Heaven! This place is a hidden gem perfectly located just a short walk from both Heaven Gate and the famous Glass Bridge—making it an ideal choice for anyone planning to visit these iconic spots in Sapa. I was genuinely amazed by the value—just 50 SGD for a spacious room with breakfast included for 3 people! It was an incredible deal that exceeded all our expectations. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent, and as hotel guests, we even received a 15% discount at a nearby partner restaurant—such a lovely bonus. The cool mountain breeze and misty surroundings create an almost magical atmosphere that truly feels like you’re in heaven. The location, comfort, and hospitality make this a fantastic choice for families or anyone looking to enjoy the best of Sapa in a peaceful, scenic setting. Highly recommended!

Location right on the Chinese border

This place is really beautiful. We only booked for 1 day but end up staying for 3 days. The location is perfect, in which you can hike by yourself or with a guide. Also the breakfast is so good.

I really like how flexible the reservation staff was. since I booked the dormitory room and she could easily changed to single room without any problem.

Room was excellent and view spectacular

The bungalows are so beautiful, immersed in lush greenery, huge garden and terrace with views of rice fields, the balcony of our bungalow, everything so clean and beautiful. Dihn's family is wonderful. I def recommend stsying here at least one night. They organise great trekking and other activities. Loved the experience.

Sapa Hillcrest Homestay was our favorite of the three popular destinations we visited in Vietnam. If you are looking for an authentic, low-key experience with a local family, this is the place to be. The location is not located near a main road so there is walking/hiking involved. Pe, the owner, will assist you with directions and meet you at a nearby main road. The mountain roads can be very steep and difficult to walk for a person with less physical abilities. We are a family of seven (16 years old and older) and had one person that struggled with the walk. However, Pe and his family are happy to pick up you and/or your luggage and get you to the house by motorbikes. They were very accommodating, fed us delicious meals, and welcomed us like family. We loved experiencing daily life in the H'Mong village. Their house is in walking distance to Cat Cat Village, which I would highly recommend visiting. Sapa is also nearby. The walk through rice terraces and clouds was breath-taking. Pe's English-speaking skills are great, so we had no trouble with communication. We loved hanging out with the little kids by the fire and watching them interact with the family. The food was amazing and fresh from their farm. The beds were comfortable and had very warm comforters. This experience was invaluable and our favorite time while traveling through North Vietnam. Thank you, Pe and family! We hope to visit you again!

This is a really great hotel. It's wonderful to spend New Year's Eve here! It's very clean! and the price is reasonable! The staff are also very friendly. They helped me book a bus to Bac Ha and also changed money for me.

The management is very accommodating. We arrive earlier than the checkin time but they let us in as soon as there is an available room. Very friendly and they make us feel comfortable.

Wonderful experience at O'Chau home tay. We arrived soaking wet from the rain, and the owner was so kind to welcome us and upgrade our room for free. The view from the room was stunning even in bad weather. The highlight was the family dinner and it was delicious. A truly memorable stay and definitely would like to come back!

The reception staff were excellent—both employees were warm and welcoming, with the woman in particular going above and beyond by communicating clearly using Google Translate. I also had the chance to meet the owner one evening; he was friendly, spoke very good English, and offered helpful recommendations for the rest of my trip in Vietnam. The room itself was comfortable, especially the bed and duvet, which made for a great night’s sleep. The hot water worked perfectly, and I appreciated the thoughtful amenities, like the water filter at reception and the kettle in the room, which allowed me to avoid using plastic bottles.

We enjoyed our two night stay. The hosts know all you need to get around d and e joy the local culture, hiking, spots, and many other highlights. We hope to be back in the summer.
