Ryokans in Shimo-yoshida

Wonderful location. Walking distance to a beautiful shrine and multiple cafes. Polite staff. DELICIOUS wagyu meal.

Staff was amazing, try to explain and introduce everything. The place has everything you want, air cond, utenstils, Toto Washlet. Peaceful place in the woods and plenty of space and parking. And we even did got a bottle of sparkling wine as a welcome drink!

Meals are great, but expensive if not included with the hotel booking.

Amazing public onsen, awesome view and the private onsen is amazing as well.

Very good traditional Japanese hotel with hospitality and onsens with a good view. We are happy that this reken was our first. The staff helped with many things. The food was awesome! The dinner is served in the room! View on Fudzi!) thank you)

Amazing experience of a traditional ryokan. The staff was excellent, kind and helpful at all times, rooms were clean and tidy, ours had an amazing view of the lake. You can use most of the facilities for free with some additional ones having a fee. We chose the included dinner and breakfast option, dinner was an amazing experience full of flavors and textures we were not used but definitely liked. Breakfast was pretty good, buffet style, but with both Japanese and western options. In terms of location, I think it’s really good depending on what you want to visit. It is just in front of the lake, and has the red line (i think) bus stop right in front of it, which we used to get there from the train station and to get to other tourist spots around the lake. There’s a lawson just outside, the boat ride in the lake and the panoramic ropeway are also just a few minutes walk away which was very convenient.

The view, calmness of the place and the staff was super helpful and friendly. There is a river walk, perfect for a morning run.

We had a very pleasant stay at Wakamizosou Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko. What we liked most was the traditional Japanese tatami room, which gave the experience an authentic and relaxing atmosphere. The facilities were very clean, including the onsen and public spaces, which were well maintained and comfortable to use. The location is excellent, right in front of the lake, offering beautiful views and a peaceful setting. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay, even though their English was quite basic—they still made a genuine effort to assist us whenever needed. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are tall (I’m 193 cm), you may need to be careful with the low ceilings in certain areas. Aside from that, it was a wonderful stay and a great place to experience traditional Japanese hospitality

Amazing location, staff. Stunning views from the window on Kawaguchiko lake and mount Fuji. Was treated to amazing dinner with wide selection of dishes. Green tea in the room.

Quite worn out in terms of decoration and facilities. But value for money for the location of stay. Great spa as well.

Love the Ryokan, toilet and the view

As described, very spacious and luxurious. Room was well cleaned, well maintained (dated interior, but it is ok), and facilities such as private onsen pool were in working order. Lastly, the fantastic view of Mt Fuji was worth it and an experience by itself.

The location was perfect and it had an exceptional view of Mt. Fuji. You can see it from all around the house! The onsen was perfect and relaxing, and it was nice how they gave us the traditional robes for it. The tatami for sleeping was of course always nice

Its a good place and recommended to stay. Morning Fuji view from quadruple room was so good.

Beautiful view of Fuji. Bit apart from town but it worth it

The room was a sizable Japanese-style room with futons and a nice western-style bathroom as well. The Onsen was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning. The owners of the hotel were extremely hospitable and also picked us up from the bus stop.
