Self-Catering Accommodations in Tulamben

Truly a gem in Amed-ish area! We stayed only for 1 night but will be planning to comeback for longer mini-vacation. The house is freshly renovated, clean and comfortable with all necessities. Kitchen is fully equipped if you are keen on cooking but also there are cafes in walking distance. We were on a bike so location seemed to be perfect. But I’m sure you can also take a short walk to the beach. And extra thanks to Wayan for making it possible for us to smoothly check in the late-late night 🙏🏼 Nothing tops waking up with gorgeous a view of Agung volcano right from your bed.

I stayed here for almost 1 month and plan to make this my new go-to in Tulamben. It is in a quiet location with a great view of Agung volcano and the forest/ farmland leading up to it. Wi-Fi is excellent and fast. Bed is comfortable. Unit has many power outlets. Lighting is good and functions well. The entire unit looks fairly new. AC is slightly underpowered for the size of the room, so on hot days at peak sun, it gets slightly warm, but nice the rest of the time. Bathroom is good: toilet flushes, shower gets hot quickly, but bathroom could use a mirror for shaving. It was inconvenient to have to step outside to the bedroom mirror. Kitchen is outside on the porch. It has a sink, 2 burner cooktop stove, and a 3/4 size refrigerator with a fairly large freezer. It also has pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. Porch is fairly large and has a table and 2 chairs and a clothes drying rack.. There is a small Hindu shrine in the lawn area. Parking is adequate for 1 car or multiple scooters, but it looks like you could park about 20 m down the road also. It is 7 min. walk to main road and about another 2 to the dropoff dive site. Locate the correct road for the Homestay by turning up the small road to Dive Concepts and continuing straight for about 500 m. Tulamben is a small village with several restaurants, many dive shops, and a couple of small supermarkets. Other facilities are very limited. ATM is in the Indomaret at far end of town. Diving here is phenomenal for macro diving. Jiwa Dive is located only 50 m from Homestay (don't know if they're good. It is a new operation. All the dive operators basically use the same tank provider, visit the same sites, etc. so I'd just pick based on price and vibe). Restaurants all have about the same menu. My favorite is Wayan, near the supermarket and the pizza at Slice n Brew. Again, all are very similar, so pick based on price and vibe.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay over looking mount agung. Staff were so good, Nyoman the manager was faultless and made are stay perfect.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this beautiful property located right next to the beach. The atmosphere was extremely peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the calm surroundings truly made our stay special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

We stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms and everything was great. The shared kitchen was very useful for cooking our own meals. The pool right in front of our rooms was a nice touch, the toilets were clean, and the rooms were comfortable.

Where do I even start? Firstly, the pictures of the villa are amazing but when you get there you're blown away by how beautiful it all is. It's even better than the pictures. Secondly, the staff make your stay a wonderful experience. Oka and his team are incredibly helpful. When we got there, Oka told us "welcome home", and it really did feel like home for the few days we were there, as you're left alone to relax and make what you want of your stay. Made, the gardener, is there every day to tidy up and clean the pool, and is a very lovely and friendly person. Iluh the housekeeper does an amazing job of cleaning the villa and the rooms. Kadek picked us up from our previous hotel and drove us to Tulamben, picking a lovely spot to have lunch and friendly conversation along the way. It was my husband's birthday while we were there, and Oka arranged with Iluh to get a cake and candles for a lovely surprise. Iluh also arranged to pick up some fresh fruit for us from the market. Oka helped us arrange a snorkelling trip over the liberty wreck, and massages at the villa too. There's also snorkelling masks provided at the villa for you to snorkel just outside the property which is a nice touch. The beach is rocky so may not be suitable for children or those with mobility issues, it can be a little tricky getting in and out of the sea so going in at high tide is recommended. It's a 10-20 minute walk into the main part of Tulamben where there are a few shops, warungs, restaurants and dive centres. Highly recommend Wayan Restaurant which also delivers to the villa, as well as Bali Reef restaurant if you're heading out. The sunrise views are incredible, if you are up early enough you can see the boats heading out too just as light is breaking. I can't express just how relaxing our stay was at Lali Jiwa Villa, I only wish we had stayed longer.

Lots of daylight. Attendance to detail. High quality appliances. Potable tap water and non-chlorinated pool. Nyoman was always around when need and so helpful
