Self-Catering Accommodations in Nakatsugawa

We really enjoyed our stay and were amazed by both the kind gestures from our host and the beautiful care that is taken of this home on the hill. There were kind kind touches throughout the guesthouse that we were so appreciative of and the care taken to provide such to guests were so clever and nice. The location is so great for the train station (truly 3 minutes away) and we found a nice restaurant close by on the night we arrived. I would describe the town as sleepy (meaning quiet). The ability to get to the Nakasendo so easily was very much appreciated.

this is a magical place. The place is actually better than the photos. The house is right on the walkway between Migome and Tsumago. The owners are such beautiful people and they will drive you wherever you need to get to for free. Truly the highlight of our Japan holiday. We highly highly recommend this place.

Very welcoming, friendly staff. Prepared a meal of hunted boar and venison that was amazing and unlike anything we've experienced.

A design/architectural masterpiece, cherishing the post & beam old structure wedded with modern functionality. A really fully appointed kitchen to cook anything for a large group, very clean, comfy futons, a couch for relaxing, spacious, quiet, TWO shower/washbasins stalls, in a beautiful, historic part of town where the locals take pride in keeping the history alive, and the area beautiful. Enjoy the "mini Nachasendo promenade. Much preferred the "aliveness" of this hstoric post town more than Magome or Tsumago.

Such a wonderful sty in Magome. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and perfect location. They picked us up from the station, took us to the closest supermarket, helped us with checkout and train schedules, amazing hospitality! Thank you

It was such a cosy place, it had all the amenities we needed like the indoor kitchen, outdoor charcoal bbq. The place is like a granny flat separate to the main house which was next door, and allowed good privacy. The host, Junko, was so hospitable and kindly picked us up and took us to the train station, she also made us something small to eat on our trip back to Tokyo. We loved how peaceful the area was, it felt like a nice getaway from the busy cities we had been to. Beautiful scenery of the mountains surrounding the house. We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. The bus station is a very close walk away and was able to get us to the Nakasendo trail easily, which we started from Asahigaoka Park, Nakatsugawa headed towards Tsumago-Juku. It was a great old house in the country side with a wonderful modern bath.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The location is excellent — just a short walk from the station and a big supermarket, which made everything super convenient. Key collection was smooth and easy. It was a unique experience staying in a traditional-style house that still felt very modern, thanks to all the up-to-date equipment and amenities provided. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Beautiful house with lots of space and garden space. Nice cotton sheets to sleep on, and fresh tatami mats. You are allowed to open the doors and windows and enjoy the outside space.
