Self-Catering Accommodations in Cat Ba

The man at the reception was super helpful with everything we needed. He allowed us to get the room early to shower after the night bus, he booked us a cruise trip and was always attentive to any issue we had.

The staff is extremely very friendly, even since before we come to the hotel. We got lost when trying to find Tuan Chau pier to Gia Luan, they sent us the direction. I had to cancel our original boat tour, and they helped us find a new tour in last minutes and it was much cheaper. We were about buying night kayak tour to see glowing plankton, as the tour company tried to convince us we can see planktons. but the hotel were very honest telling us no planktons in December. It is like having local friends when staying at this hotel. Room is very very clean, and new. Breakfast is limited at options, but they offered to cook something else only for us. Location is very good, close to everything. Very pleasant stay, thank you very much for your hospitality!

A little slice of heaven in Cat Ba. Opposite a lake and out of the town so very quiet. The family that run this place are so very kind. They will help with everything. Fantastic quality scooters and they can organise trips and transport.. Accommodation is very clean and the breakfasts are lovingly created and local Vietnamese traditional food. Don't hesitate to book this place, it's amazing!!!

Very nice people. They let us check in early and showed us the house from top to bottom. The apartment was a very large space, good for families. A washing machine on the third floor and two bathrooms made it very convenient. There is a darling tiny Daschund who lives next door who came and visited us every day. We had a scooter and a bicycle at our disposal, which made going to the old town very quick. The apartment is in a local area with lots of food options. There is a nice little bar called “Trang Draft Beer” that is run by a local woman right next door. Don’t be scared about how it looks. The proprietor speaks great English and offered up stories and local dishes for us tourists not familiar with real Vietnamese food. The beer is cold, food delicious, and the prices cheap. We ate here twice during our trip for under $8 USD for our family of three with three beers each. On the other hand, you can walk 1-2 km into the tourist part of town by the water and pay much higher prices.
