We absolutely loved this villa, with its beautiful gardens, huge bedrooms and fantastic pool (it's all yours for your stay- nothing shared). There is a huge amount of space, both inside and outside the villa, for you to enjoy in the day and in the evening. All 3 bedrooms are A/C and have en-suite shower/toilet rooms and mosquito nets. The 'master' bedroom has a fab view of the pool, as well as an additional double room (no separate shower room), so in effect, there are actually 4 double bedrooms, rather than 3. The lounge area has ceiling fans, a full size fridge/freezer and TV/Stereo, although we didn't use this. Very well equipped kitchen by the pool, with plenty of plates/pans etc and a huge dining table. Washing machine and plenty of drying space. Very well located, near to both the beach and the town/shops/ATMs/bus station

We had an amazing time at the Whispering House. Our host was very helpful with everything we needed. The house is comfortable, and the garden and pool are very nice.

Gorgeous property. Lovely family. Quiet peaceful. Incredible value. Large, spacious. A bit further way so more peaceful and an excellent oat milk latte can also be found at pumpkin cafe in closer proximity than the rest of town.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Tanderra in Sri Lanka, which was an amazing experience. We were a party of 6 all female friends. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property, we were captivated by the sheer beauty and tranquility that surrounded us. The rooms were spacious, bright, and well maintained. Each bedroom was comfortable, featuring plush beds, high-quality linens, and 3 had breathtaking views of the ocean. The en-suite bathrooms were fitted with luxurious fixtures, rain showers, and quality products. One of the highlights of this villa was its indoor / outdoor living spaces. The expansive dining table was perfect for long lunches. It overlooked the pool at one side and the garden on the other. Really felt that it was inside outside living. The staff at the villa were exceptional in every way. They were warm, welcoming, and always went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met. From the moment we arrived, we received a personalized service that left a lasting impression. The private chef, Santha, prepared delectable meals, showcasing the finest flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine, and the attentive housekeeping staff Sampath and Darshana ensured that the villa was always in pristine condition. In conclusion, our stay at this amazing villa in Sri Lanka was nothing short of magical. It exceeded all our expectations in terms of luxury, beauty, and hospitality. If you're looking for a truly extraordinary experience amidst a tropical paradise, I wholeheartedly recommend this villa. It's a haven of tranquility and indulgence, and a place that will leave you with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

If you have children please read this review carefully. I did a lot of research into reviews for our trip and for the most part all the properties we stayed at during our Sri Lanka trip were relatively accurate, but definitely not this one and this was definitely the worst place we stayed during our time in Sri Lanka. I have no idea who wrote the positive reviews but clearly we had a very different experience. Firstly the property has a number of safety issues e.g. plug sockets that were damaged or did not work property. The owner took me up to show off the roof terrace which was a complete safety hazard and no idea why you would allow people to use it in its current state - see picture. The apartment is up steep stairs so not recommended for young children/elderly and is very dark inside and were a number of cleaning issues - see picture of fridge. The property is advertised as being close to the beach which is not accurate - it is at least a 10 minute if not longer walk. When we booked it stated a 30 minute massage per adult was included - which I had in writing in email. I contacted the property prior to arrival to ask about booking but received no response and then when we arrived was told it was not included, despite showing them the clear confirmation. They accused me of requesting an additional discount - despite being clear I was requesting that what was booked was honoured. Whilst we agreed a discount amount the whole exchange was not pleasant. The internet initially didn't work and when it did was very slow. The water heater/shower was very difficult to work and leaked. Overall the pictures/reviews we read were very misleading and did not reflect our experience.

The most important and biggest help we had while we were spending our time at conch villa was that we were able to wash our cloths for free of charge. We had a washing machine for that. If we had to hire an outside laundry facility if would have cost a lot of money. We were able to get all these facilities from within the villa. In addition, there are lots of restaurants around the villa. It was a great convenience for us as it was very close to the beach and the city. As for the surroundings of the villa it is located in a very nice & peaceful area. The inside of the villa, the rooms we stayed in was very large & we had good a/c and a clean bathrooms.

It was a very nice property and in a secluded location. The staff took care of us and made sure our picky eaters were happy.

Great spot in Tangalle, run by a loving family, that’s only a few minutes motorbike or tuk-tuk ride from the nearby beaches, restaurants, supermarkets or bus station. Comfy bed, strong A/C, a good working kitchen, and a fantastic balcony to watch the peacocks, chipmunks and other animals do their daily routines in the garden or by the lake that’s just across the street. Most mornings the family would share any extra breakfast offerings with me, which were always delicious and cooked with care.

We had a great stay at Sunbeam Villa. The hosts were wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable with AC and hot water. The wifi worked perfectly for online work.

Really friendly hosts. The owner drove us with his car to a dinner place so we wouldn't have to get a taxi. He also came back home during lunchtime to say goodbye to us. The owners dad is an experienced host and looked after us during our stay. The villa was nice, tidy and spacious and even had a washing machine we could use. Thank you for your care and hospitality, it was a pleasure.

We had an amazing stay at this villa! Surrounded by lush greenery, it felt like a peaceful retreat. The living area’s wooden paneling and vintage charm made it so cozy. Just a 2-minute walk to the beach and with groceries and food nearby, everything was super convenient. My kids enjoyed every moment, especially the open space to play. A perfect mix of relaxation and accessibility—we can’t wait to come back!

Stuart House was truly an amazing experience. I visited with a group of friends, and the place exceeded all of our expectations. The house is beautifully preserved, blending historic charm with modern architecture to provide guests with a unique and delightful experience. It was impeccably clean, spacious, and filled with stunning colonial furniture. The atmosphere was picturesque, perfect for a memorable stay. Krishni Gunawardena, the owner, is incredibly friendly and attentive. She made sure we were well-settled and enjoying our stay. A special mention goes to Ajantha, who was always there to assist us. His helpfulness and readiness to assist deserve a full 5 stars. The location is also ideal—just 350 meters from the beach and a 5-minute walk to town. The house and the spacious washrooms were spotless, adding to the comfort of our stay. We are definitely coming back!

Located within walking distance of the bus station and also the beach. There was a mosquito net over the bed. Towel provided. Quiet place so you can get some good rest. There is wifi.

Super clean and spacious studio located next to the beach and close to the city center. All facilities were in a perfect working order, kitchen is equipped with all needed including the fridge. Hosts are very friendly and helpful, promptly responded to all our requests. They also run a nice restaurant right next to the property with a serene sea view. Perfect value, would come again!
