The location was perfect for starting our Coast to Coast walk. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good and reasonably priced. We had a family room which was very large and comfortable.

By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations. The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm. The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss. The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice. Loved this place and will definitely be back again.

The hotel is obviously being renovated and updated, with lots of work still to be done, but it was fun to stay there at a reasonable cost and see the history. Our room was spacious and nicely done up. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay comfortable.

Nestled in the Eskdale Valley, Bower House Inn is 4 miles from the Cumbrian coast. This 17th century 3 star inn offers superb food in its restaurant and rooms with private bathrooms.

Very friendly and helpful staff, I left a watch behind which they kept safe for me. The food was excellent as was the breakfast.

We stayed in one of the pods. Very comfortable, modern and clean. Friendly staff and great food. Lots of delicious vegetarian options for breakfast and dinner!

Once visited by Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI, parts of Irton Hall date back to the 14th century.
