Accommodations in Kilmuir

We loved this cosy country house on Skye. It's a true home away from home. The host had excellent communication. I highly recommend a stay there.

Our stay at Fladda Chuain was peaceful with stunning views over the fields to the sea. Mairi popped in to welcome us and gave us some information about the home and area. The home is very comfortable and a great place to relax. Heating excellent. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, The top floor bedroom is a mezzanine style room so not totally walled off. The welcome goodies were appreciated - bread, milk, butter, tea, instant coffee, sugar, shortbread biscuits and a bottle of wine. There is no coffee maker but there is a coffee plunger so bring your own coffee grounds. Be aware the road from Uig involves single lane and passing bay driving, and the final road to the house was full of potholes, so take it easy. (out of owners control)

We liked the view from our room and we liked the kitchen a lot! It was clean and easy to whip up some meals. It saved us a lot of money instead of eating out (and actually not sure where to eat out really...).

Great location, incredible property. Well worth the drive

The cottage was perfect place for our family of 5 to enjoy Skye! It’s a beautiful, well furnished and comfortable property, with an amazing view. And while it is far enough out that it feels like wonderfully isolated, it is a relatively easy drive to many of the best hikes on the north side of the island.

The views, the comfort and the amenities.

Very warm and cozy place. Very clean. You can feel the care from the hosts. The kitchen has everything you might need. Awesome view, with walks nearby. The beds are comfy. We stayed for 10 days and had absolutely everything we needed. We'd definitely recommend.

The view was amazing. Right in the heart of nature

Everything - spacious house, well equipped with all you need for a comfortable longer stay. The location is fairly remote so make sure to do your groceries before you arrive. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of kitchenware and some basic cooking items, tea and coffee. The kwners also left us some biscuits and chocolate, and they live nearby in case you need any help. The location is very quiet and private, and we truly relaxed there with the amazing views of Outer Hebrides and sheep grazing outside our windows. Everything functioned perfectly, heating, appliances etc. The house was very clean and it felt really homey. There is a small take away deli/cafe nearby at the Museum of island life (15min walk), otherwise you'll need to srive down to Uig to the nearest restaurants and grocery store. If you're looking for a restful stay in the nature, away from people and with amazing views, then this is the right place.

Nice and comfy stay for a sleepover on the road trip. Room is very clean and well equipped. Quiet neighborhood. Watched the beautiful sunset on the balcony. Highly recommend.
