United StatesDiana is a wonderful host. The food was delicious. Rooms are spacious. Fan ceiling. Beds were comfortable. A 25 minute walk to the Mulu National Park or if a 5 minute ride. They are expanding so expect some construction during the day. Also this is not a luxury stay, but a modest homestay.

CanadaThe room and bathroom were very spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Best feature was staying in the park and being just a few minutes walk from HQ and the cafe. We had some power issues on the second night and third day but it was dealt with expeditiously. We didn't use it but there is laundry service available.

- Price is very good! I also was off-season and had the whole room and bathroom only for myself
- There is an opportunity to order a small breakfast

United StatesThe location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

This is the second time we have been to Mulu, and it's because we simply love it. Cannot fault our stay one bit, and would fully recommend any one who is thinking to go, to just book! We returned this time with friends and enjoyed relaxing next to the pool and in the bar after a busy day of exploring the mulu national park. The rooms are so spacious and offer everything you need. Food is wonderful, and staff cannot do enough for you. We will see you again!

The rooms were basic, but we did not need more. The accommodation was within walking distance of both the national park and the airport. The owner was very friendly. In general, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Quite basic accommodation close to Marriott hotel.
Room was large (4 beds, we were only 2) and clean a well as the bathroom.
There is no AC but a fan on the wall and it can get very hot during the day.
The host was helpful and explained us everything.
The accommodation is NOT within a walking distance to the park - unless you like to walk a lot.
There is an option to get dropped whenever you need for 5 MYR per person per way, so it can make the stay more expensive.
Overall we enjoyed our time.

James and Brenda’s place is probably the most authentic homestay in Mulu. They are so friendly and welcoming and truly make everyone feel like part of the family. Both of their advice and knowledge is fantastic. The accommodation is a great base to rest up and get clean for your next adventure in the surrounding jungle.

Very high standard of service. Would highly recommend staying at Benarat Lodge. Accommodation, meals, airport pickup drop off and Mulu park tours all organised for you when you book in! Can very highly recommend.

The owner is so friendly and helpful, letting me store my luggage here when I had to move accommodations because everything was already booked up. I really felt at home here, and all the guests are super friendly too. The location is just a few minutes walk from the entrance to Mulu NP, and is very peaceful and quiet. The table fan for the room was enough to keep cool, and the room was quite spacious. The room and bathroom are well designed with enough hooks for toiletries and clothes.
