Absolutely one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. Everyone is friendly, helpful and always smiling. The atmosphere is amazing, very social and perfect for meeting people from all over the world. The pool area is beautiful and super clean, a great place to relax during the day or hang out in the evening. Rooms are spotless, beds are comfortable and everything is well taken care of. You can really feel the attention to detail. Food and drinks were also great and the common areas have a really good vibe. It’s the kind of place where you plan to stay a couple of nights and end up extending your stay. Highly recommended. If you are in Zanzibar, you should definitely stay here.

good budget holiday one minute from Nungwi beach, nice staff, quiet at night, delicious breakfast in the morning with a plate of fruit and boiled coffee, we extended our stay for another 5 nights. Air conditioning and hot water, the room smelled pleasantly of flowers. We felt at home.

Everything was top-notch! From the transfer (really cheap compared to transfers arranged by other accommodations) to the atmosphere of the place itself where everything is clean and cosy, ready for you to relax. Beach is just around a corner. Very friendly owners and staff, great food and cocktails. Extra points for detailed tips on local restaurants, trips, markets etc. And big thanks for letting us stay in the room even after check-out time!😊

The best part of the stay is the staff for sure, from the reception to the entertainment (Ronni), Ramadan in the kitchen, Masiku and Dorcas in the canteen were also amazing. Really, everyone was awesome. The food was very good with nice variety, the room is nice, the bed is very comfortable and the cleaning team is just amazing. The location is awesome, the view is lovely. There are concerts every day in the evening which is lovely and the performers are amazing. If you’re looking for a chill vacation this is the hotel for you.

Great staff, ready to assist with any request- Issa was a fantastic driver. Delicious food available and a good variety of options. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The access to the beach was superb and the pool area was very welcoming. The location away from the larger resorts suited the holiday we were after, and it was easy to walk or drive to the village as needed. We will definitely recommend to others to stay here!

Location is very convenient for the beach, the rooms are basic, staff are very friendly and lovely ! But few issues made my stay not so enjoyable, first the WiFi only works in certain parts of the accommodation, needs to have a better ceiling fan or AC as it’s very hot in Zanzibar, loads of lizards and insects around the rooms, Papaya has some room to grow to shine be a 5* accommodation

It was a very friendly and welcoming accommodation. All the staff were so helpful, especially Hans, Joshua and the italian owner. The food was delicious and the vibes were great. The beach was right outside which was amazing. We would absolutely love to return one day and stay in Makofi.

I had an amazing hotel stay with friendly staff and clean, spacious rooms. The customer service was exceptional, and the comfortable amenities contributed to a pleasant experience. The hotel's convenient location and efficient check-in/out process were also noteworthy. Nonetheless, my stay was highly enjoyable, thanks to the attentive staff and the comfortable, well-maintained accommodations.
