We really enjoyed our stay at Morika Villa. The view here is absolutely spectacular, especially during sunrise! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms and a shared kitchen. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, always happy to assist with anything like renting a bike or organizing tours. The food at the restaurant was also good, with a variety of dishes to choose from.

It’s cozy and right in front of the beach. They have a restaurant with drinks and a decent menu with some specials, which luckily for us was lobster when we arrived. Big, fat, fresh lobster. Staff is kind and the rooms are super comfortable and well designed.

Betelnut sits amongst a local village - local kids wander through, village dogs make themselves comfortable wherever they please, and life just carries on around you. The beach is entirely locals - men, women and kids collecting seaweed, fishing, bathing their horse. We didn't see a single other tourist the whole time. For anyone tired of over-touristed destinations, it's a genuine breath of fresh air. Food is communal and freshly made every day. Simple, delicious, no fuss. It became one of our favourite parts of the day. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful without being in your face. They can also organise a solid range of local activities if you want to explore. It's not for everyone, if you need air conditioning and room service, this isn't your place. But if you want to actually experience somewhere rather than just visit it, Betelnut delivers in a way that's hard to find anymore.

Pemimpi Sumba has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Lambatama. The hostel has both free WiFi and free private parking. À la carte and Asian breakfast options are available at the hostel.

Clean, comfortable, located on the beachfront, great sunsets, amazing meals (included in price) and the hospitality was 10/10 Thomas was a great host and guide, sharing all the local hidden spots that most people miss and providing great hospitality. Eddy the host was amazing! He went above and beyond to help me with my ferry booking by contacting a few friends and driving me to the office to reserve a cabin. He helped me with a bike rental and gave some recommendations for exploring Sumba. The location is quiet and beautiful, with a nice view and plenty of horses around the property. The room and balcony were large and had everything needed for a comfortable stay

The room was new, spacious, and very clean. The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!
