(also had a good air con) Plenty of foodie places nearby.

A town full of history.
A town full of history. We enjoyed a stroll through the gardens, the talking tram, the Chinese museum and a stroll around the antique and collectable shops. The old buildings are beautiful and remind us of the history surrounding the township.

Cant really add anything else except to say it met all our requirements for our overnight stay. We were attending a party at the local hotel Marong Family Hotel, and i have to say the meals were top notch. Getting around Marong is very easy as we are very familiar with place. Sorry I cant upload any pictures.

Very comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom. Room too close to public kitchen area, no noise buffering. There were other accomodation areas that would have been better, but were booked out. Very pretty area, lots of great wineries.

History lovers will enjoy exploring Bendigo's rich gold rush heritage, including the Central Deborah Gold Mine, Golden Dragon Museum, vintage talking trams and the city's magnificent historic architecture. The arts scene is equally impressive, with major exhibitions, theatre, ballet, symphony performances, live music, comedy and a vibrant calendar of events throughout the year.
The city also has an excellent selection of cafés and restaurants, local wineries nearby, beautiful parks and gardens, and easy day trips to places such as Echuca's historic port, Kyabram Fauna Park and the Heathcote wine region. We were lucky enough to experience the electric light exhibition, which was absolutely magical and well worth seeing.
Bendigo strikes a wonderful balance between a welcoming country town and a vibrant regional city. It's easy to get around, offers plenty to see and do over a long weekend, and leaves you wanting to come back again.

Nice quiet country town.
Nice quiet country town. With a local pub that has great meals. A golf course, post office and a shop that does a variety of take away meals. Everything was very close and handy to our accommodation. Walking distance, so it was great for us.

Beautifully appointed rooms with lots of little luxury touches including fresh flowers from their garden. Breakfasts were delicious & delivered on time. The surroundings are tranquil & relaxing, and it's about 20 min into Bendigo. Hosts are really attentive & accommodating.

For some strange reason the room I was in on the first night...
For some strange reason the room I was in on the first night the sensor on the ceiling started to have smoke coming out, very slowly…..it was a terrible smell, never smelt it before I put the fan on but the smoke slowly filled the room then the sensor light came on & didn’t go off…Also water started to drip out of the sensor ..So I went to the sitting room for the rest of the night on the lounge. My girlfriend was in a separate room. The next 2 nights we were moved two weeks were moved to different rooms. Also the car parking was not a good experience. It was just bad luck I guess…..thank you…….☹️

Marong is cute country town located at the corner of the Calder and Calder Alternate Highways. (an incredibly dangerous intersection so take care when crossing it!) The town is a still relatively untouched country town located 15 minutes west of Bendigo CBD and surrounding suburbs. Its a peaceful stop over location or if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of busy Bendigo. The Marong General Store offers great take away options or if you prefer a sit in meal you cant go past the Marong pub. The local bakery offers some good treats and the coffee cart next to the swimming pool makes the best coffee.
