A gem of a property and host! This property is beautifully presented, with super comfortable beds and special welcoming treats to top it off. We only wish we had longer to enjoy the property and beautiful gardens.

The location was fantastic. Up very high with spectacular views but close to airport and into town. It was very quiet and the house was beautiful.

Mount Rumney Escapes exceeded all of our expectations. The view was absolutely stunning and made our stay feel extra special. The accommodation was spotless, the rooms were great, and everything was very well maintained.
We loved the option to purchase items from the minibar using a QR code — such a convenient and modern idea. Having wildlife so close by was an amazing bonus and really added to the experience.
Overall, it was an incredible stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mount Rumney Escapes to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

About 20 minutes from Hobart Airport, the Kangaroo House of Mount Rumney Escapes is a secluded wonderful hideout with a lovely view of Hobart. We like the comfy beds, the complete kitchen, the very clean bathroom, and the wallabies and echidna immediately outside. The very kind host was reachable even late at night.

Mount Rumney Escapes Seaview House 3 – Wombat House was an absolutely fantastic stay for us, and we highly recommend it. The hosts, especially Clarrise, were incredibly accommodating and compassionate when our flights changed at the last minute, working with Booking.com to move our non‑refundable Saturday booking to Friday without hesitation from House 2 to House 3, which made us feel genuinely cared for as travellers. We arrived late at night in a Toyota Corolla Hybrid with five adults and five hiking bags and still got there easily, found the house comfortable and welcoming, and loved the stunning views that made the whole experience memorable!

It was a very heavy fog, Obviously not the proprietors fault but made it so difficult to find, we’ve been there twice before just an unfortunate night with the fog being so thick, on the whole. It’s a great property to stay really good, beautiful in the country.

I loved pretty much everything about Iron Bay Creek Estate! The very friendly and helpful staff, the outstanding facilities- beautifully aesthetic buildings, tasteful landscaping, stunning views of water and mountains, gorgeous apricot and cherry orchards with the most delectable cherries I’ve ever tasted and a palatial well appointed restaurant. The attention to detail throughout the estate is outstanding and our room was super affordable and included a generous buffet breakfast.

Amazing hotel in the center of the city, super near to the market. Staff were warm and professional and the rooms were luxurious. Speakeasy bar was a nice bonus too

You really must go and look at the incredible amount of work they have done on the outside and inside the buildings. I was struck with the detail on the ceilings. The food is very good and reasonable.

We stayed because it is close to our family but the airport is only a short drive away. Close to smallish shopping area and pubs. Not too far from central Hobart but the value for money is outstanding

The bed was comfortable, the attuned of the desk staff was poor. The price was way over priced for the location. The view was of rubbish bins that they kept filling till late at night with bottles.
Don't wast your money staying there get something in a better location!

The view was fantastic, and made the stay a real adventure. We drove down again from our cabin to shops to get breakfast for the next mroning, and we were easily able to get excellent food. Our son visited from South Arm, and brought us pizza for dinner.
However, the drive up to the cabin is over steep, uneven gravel roads, and it requires experience with this type of driving.

We chose Lauderdale because it is conveniently located—only about 20 minutes from Hobart and around 20 minutes from South Arm, home to Goat Bluff Lookout, one of the best places to view the Southern Lights.
We were fortunate enough to witness the Aurora Australis on 8 June, which made our stay even more memorable. Seeing the Southern Lights was truly a highlight of our trip and an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Lewisham is a quiet hamlet, with clean beaches, surf, sand and bay for sailing, boating, SUP, fishing and enjoying the peace. The Lewisham Hotel is a gathering spot for the locals and visitors to view the sunsets over water towards Mt Wellington, and really delicious menu of fresh and local produce. Such a delightful place, close to Hobart, Richmond and Maria Island. A good base away from the CBD.

Loved Mount Rumney.
Loved Mount Rumney. Prepare for a bit of a drive up and road can be a bit dicey, but well worth it if you take your time. Glad we stayed the 5 days. So relaxing. We went out daily to various places and it was so good to come back to Wombat house to wind down with the wonderful view and a nice cold drink lol. We went to Old Hobart Town in Richmond, which young ones should love, as it is a miniature of Hobart back in the day. Just like doll houses. You can also visit Richmond gaol. We went to Campbeltown and Ross to see the bridges built by the convicts. Visited Port Arthur and was amazed with the changes and work they have done there. We are lucky we weren't born back then and a convict. Got the ferry from Bellerive to Salamanca Markets and had a good walk around. Went to Mausons Hut museum and then back on ferry. Much easier than trying to park in Hobart. Overall, Mount Rumney is a great starting point for tourists.
