The location was great as we had an engagement just down the road. Very convenient Woolworths and Aldi across the road. KFC next door Macdonald's just down the road. Had a Great time whole extended family stayed. Friendly staff and great value for money.

Night time on the weekend are rather rough, so please be cautious if you go out.
Otherwise during the daytime there is plenty to do. Beautiful nature walks, parks for children and a great variety of shops.

My husband and I are both in our 70s.
My husband and I are both in our 70s. We used to live in Mooroopna and we were visiting some friends of ours. Tatura is a lovely little town. We ate at the middle pub and we all enjoyed our meals.
I just want to mention we did meat the owners the morning we were leaving. They were very apologetic for not being there to welcome us. It seemed they visited their daughter who had been rushed into hospital.

I went to Shepparton to attend a course related to my job.
I went to Shepparton to attend a course related to my job. Shep has changed from a medium sized to a large country town with a vibrant multicultural community, which seems to have a large number of young families. The area around the lake is beautiful, and it's lovely to hear a range of languages being spoken, which I miss in my relatively monocultural (and, frankly, racist) smaller country town one and a half hours' drive away.
I'm not sure I'd exactly holiday in Shep - it's a bit close to home and has that sort of contempt for familiarity feel about it for me, but I think it could be a good place to live, it is small enough to be a community where you know a lot of people, but not everyone, and it has the basic resources that I have to travel out of town for at home: a range of medical providers, a large aquatic centre, KMart, asian food store, big op shops, that sort of thing.
It would also be a good place to stop over if one needed a stopover on a longer trip.
I didn't want to eat out so bought a bowl of noodles from Noodle Canteen - I could only eat about half of it! Excellent value.

So much to see in Tatura and nearby Shepparton.
So much to see in Tatura and nearby Shepparton. We found the German War Camps very interesting, a little known history for our group. The mosaic square are well worth seeing. Many coffee shops to choose from.

There was an acceptable Asian takeaway/dine in cafe next door. Mooroopna is very close to Shepparton without the hassles that a bigger city entails.
I was there to visit the cemetery, so other 'attractions' are inapplicable.

I chose to come to Shepparton to see the Art Gallery, which was great. Didn't get to see all of the street art but did see most of the silo art, which was out-of-town.
Throughly enjoyed visiting the Botanical Gardens, walking the many trails there as well as walking around the lake and gardens at the back of the Art Gallery. Everything was very clean--no litter in the gardens and around the lake.
As a woman travelling solo I felt very comfortable visiting Shepparton. I had lots of choice in the local grocery stores and enjoying cooking some of my favorite meals. Did not eat out.
