Near water taxi and bus station; taxi from apt to water taxi is US $6. Taxi from airport is US $30 but driver charged me US $45 because there was a lot of traffic so he had to take the long way. He also took a picture of us in front of the Belize sign before dropping us off at apt. Host is very responsive Clean place A/C, kitchenette, hot shower and ref are all working well Filtered cold water bottle in ref was such a welcome touch as you can not drink the water from the tap in Belize.

Felt like a homestay. Owner lives next door and is a wonderful host. The house is in great location for walking to good restaurants on the river. The house had everything we needed and the deck and pool are great for hanging out.

Belize City needs love.

Belize City needs love. We were disappointed in the conditions of the sidewalks. Tourism is the major draw, however they city is not walk friendly. Not from people harming you, it's you falling in the holes and unevenness of the sidewalk. The city offers a perspective that can be appreciated if you can foresee growth. 2 days is enough time, anything else is too much.

The city itself is not attractive.

The city itself is not attractive. It’s a typical city, (noisy, trash on the streets, busy ) and to that add the extreme heat and not much to do as a visitor. All the attractions are out in the islands or inland.

Belize City exceeded my expectations.

Belize City exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic, welcoming, attentive travel staff. This travel experience was much more than a mere vacation, it was a lifestyle reset. Belize City has so much rich history and culture. My favorite spots were anywhere on Caye Caulker island (The Split, Lazy Lizard, Sip and Dip and Bliss Beach). The Tiki Sunset Boat Ride was phenomenal. There was so much activities to enjoy on Caye Caulker ranging from tarpon feeding, scuba diving, and swimming with the stingrays We enjoyed dinner afterwards at Swings. The deep fried FRESH snapper was delicious. Our lodge at The Anchorage and Hummingbirds Cabin was the icing on the cake. And the LOCALS made this the most amazing experience. Please Belize I will return soon.
