Belize City needs love.
Belize City needs love. We were disappointed in the conditions of the sidewalks. Tourism is the major draw, however they city is not walk friendly. Not from people harming you, it's you falling in the holes and unevenness of the sidewalk. The city offers a perspective that can be appreciated if you can foresee growth. 2 days is enough time, anything else is too much.

The city itself is not attractive.
The city itself is not attractive. It’s a typical city, (noisy, trash on the streets, busy ) and to that add the extreme heat and not much to do as a visitor. All the attractions are out in the islands or inland.

Belize City exceeded my expectations.
Belize City exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic, welcoming, attentive travel staff. This travel experience was much more than a mere vacation, it was a lifestyle reset. Belize City has so much rich history and culture.
My favorite spots were anywhere on Caye Caulker island (The Split, Lazy Lizard, Sip and Dip and Bliss Beach). The Tiki Sunset Boat Ride was phenomenal. There was so much activities to enjoy on Caye Caulker ranging from tarpon feeding, scuba diving, and swimming with the stingrays
We enjoyed dinner afterwards at Swings. The deep fried FRESH snapper was delicious.
Our lodge at The Anchorage and Hummingbirds Cabin was the icing on the cake.
And the LOCALS made this the most amazing experience. Please Belize I will return soon.

There are not too many sites within Belize city itself, but...
There are not too many sites within Belize city itself, but you can entertain for a day or two. More importantly, Belize city is more convenient as a jumping off location too many other tours, whether it’s cave tubing, seeing mayan ruins, etc.… if you stay on one of the islands, you need to take the ferry back to the mainland to access many of these tours.

Belize City was somewhat different.
Belize City was somewhat different. When visiting you may need to rent a vehicle to get around as it is a bit spreadout. You will need to drive or arrange for tours to get to the significant sites. I will say that it is safe to travel around the city and the people are very friendly.

I had a great tour guide.
I had a great tour guide. It rained here and there, but it did not impact any of my activities like zip lining, cave tubing. There were wonderful fireworks for New Year’s. Everyone was friendly and helpful, hotel staff the guys at the ferry, & staff at restaurants and beaches. The food was incredible everywhere I ate the food was just outstanding.

We had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners on the rooftop. They were great. But, the best thing about this hotel are the staff. From the front desk (awesome) to the servers (so friendly and efficient) to the shuttle drivers, they are excellent. In the shuttle, we didn't know that our house keys must have dropped out of a pocket. We were waiting in line at customs, and our driver, Adrian, came looking (all over the airport!) to find us and return them. What a great guy. This hotel is very clean, and is in a good location, and is a good price.

Everything about the hotel is exceptional: the location, right on the waterfront in the historic center of Belize, just minutes from the resort village, the main tourist attractions, and the museum. The homemade, plentiful, and fresh breakfast is delicious, and the owners are simply wonderful—attentive, always willing to help, and friendly. Deborah took us to places, arranged tours and excursions for us, helped us with high-level professional contacts, and made her hotel available to us.
