Hopkins was great experience.

Hopkins was great experience. I love the ocean access and the people were great as well. We enjoyed every restaurant we sampled, Maximo, Ella's and Jalapeno's. I would recommend a visit to Hopkins to anyone looking to experience Belize. Traveling around Hopkins was easy, a lot of walking, bike riding, golf cart and car driving.

Hopkins was great - most restaurants were good.

Hopkins was great - most restaurants were good. The people were very friendly, except the owners at some of the Chinese supermarkets. Service was a little slow but they seem to cook everything from scratch, so we expected that and the food was very tasty. The beaches are great but there are areas where there is a fair bit of garbage. All the beaches in front of all the worthwhile accomodations were kept in pristine shape, though half way through our stay the sargassum began to wash ashore as the sea water warmed up, and the cleaners faced a very difficult task then! The sargassum didn't bother us much for swimming, though some areas of the bay were impossible to traverse. Could do lots of tours from Hopkins, but we did leave to spend a few nights in San Ignacio for tours there, and then later another few nights in Placencia for the Monkey River Tour.

Beautiful sunrise . Excellent staff very friendly . Nice rooms and very well kept resort. Great meals at the restaurant. Great location just a short walk or bike ride to Hopkins village where the people were all very friendly. Lots of excursions to go on , fantastic snorkeling just a boat ride away.

Hopkins is a laid back relaxed area where you mix with locals. Unlike Placencia with its high end fancy homes and hotels, this place is more like the real Belize. I have been coming to Belize since 2003 and this was my second stay in Hopkins.

There are some great shops with local artist works.

There are some great shops with local artist works. A very nice restaurant just up the street. A very good street vendor for fresh fruits and veggies just up the street as well. The local people are terrific. The Hopkins town council members need to work on cleaning the streets and beaches. The place has great potential. But with the trash everywhere. Who wants to return to that.

I was there in slow season, so it was nice to see what...

I was there in slow season, so it was nice to see what regular life in Hopkins looks like, but the downside (as a solo traveler) was that I couldn't book a snorkeling trip, because no one was going out. And many places were closed. Not a problem for me, because I wasn't there to party, but I would've liked to see more of the cultural side of Hopkins.

This is a delightful, boutique-style hotel right on the beach. We woke up to the Caribbean Sea outside our door each morning. It was paradise! The restaurant here is high-quality, under chef Rob (be sure to make reservations for dinner!) We had delicious dinners and breakfasts every day. The staff are exceptional -- SO friendly and eager to help with any need or question you may have. There are free kayaks and paddle boards for guest use.

Loved the property, the larger rooms are amazing, very big, comfortable bed, all very well designed. The rooftop terrace is lovely, nice place to hangout. Emma the owner of the property is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great place for your stay in Hopkins! And if you ride a motorbike - this is where you can rent one too!

The hostel was set up in a very cute way, with a nice central courtyard with many places to sit. There were enough showers and bathrooms so we never had to wait. We also really liked Roy (owner), and he took the time to carefully answer all our questions.
