Sydney is a town with many interesting buildings and things...
Sydney is a town with many interesting buildings and things to do. The harbour front is interesting to visit as is the Titanic museum. The Memorial University campus is very expansive and its botanical gardens a site to see. The streets are a bit confusing to navigate by car but a map helps!
We ate several times at the Newfoundland Embassy which serves pub meals and at Boston Pizza where the atmosphere is comfortable and the fish and chips excellent!

We loved the location of the Sea Cliff cottage and all the amenities it afforded. We spent one day driving the spectacular Cabot Trail although it was a long day and long drive. But the views were worth it.

This was our second trip to North Sydney.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

The hotel has removed locks from the exterior doors into the hotel, no security to be had. The carpeted stairs were disgusting. The smell was indicative of the lack of cleanliness. The owner hung up on me when I was providing feedback by phone.

The principal reason to travel to North Sydney is to take the Newfoundland ferry. As such, there are not really any attractions in the town. For travellers passing through, there are a few accommodations, restaurants and fast food outlets that offer good quality. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway is easy and quick.

I tend to like more places in nature not in towns. My tours were cancelled so I had extra time I didn’t plan on. Majestic Tours was great though as he took me on a private tour of the Cabot trail to Green Cove for my original price.

We arrived on a Monday and found out there were very limited options for dinner (Chinese or Italian, i.e. pizza). Those choices did not suit us, so we had to drive to Sydney. It was not very far (maybe 20 minute drive), but there were lots of options in Sydney.
