Smith falls was great.... middle town to launch trips to...

Smith falls was great.... middle town to launch trips to Perth/ Almonte/ Merrickville and Brockville. Many great restaurants and a haven of great chip stands...staples as well (Tim horton / Harvey/ Swiss Chalet ) local Walmart and Giant tiger. Pretty town with old history and the river locks are very interesting - workers there are happy to give you the workings of the locks. Enjoy

Merrickville is a hidden gem, the whole town smelt great, it...

Merrickville is a hidden gem, the whole town smelt great, it was late May and the lilacs and lily of the valley were all in full bloom. The walking trails were lovely, as was Violets Bakery, Caramels, The Village Bean Coffee Shop, and all the beautiful stores, every person I met was very helpful and friendly. Parking was a breeze.

We requested to book out at 1:00 pm so that we could change...

We requested to book out at 1:00 pm so that we could change after the funeral. Initially we were told yes but the next day the decided we needed to pay for an extra day since we were late departing even though we had confirmed prior to taking the room the we could have a delayed departure.

Very charming little town worth visiting.

Very charming little town worth visiting. Unique shops decorated to be an experience in themselves let alone staff in many dressed to match. Historical houses and places of buisness are plentiful and some are so full of character and charm. Town reminds you of a hallmark movie moment . Very walkable sites . Ate at the goose place very good .

We love Smith Falls beautiful community with old and new...

We love Smith Falls beautiful community with old and new Architecture. The water ways are so beautiful with the locks. We just love the scenery and The Railroad Museum. Just a beautiful are in which to enjoy nature. Can't forget the Swans there in summer.

I didn't actually go into the village of Merrickville this...

I didn't actually go into the village of Merrickville this stay but I highly recommend travellers visit this lovely village right on the Rideau Canal . Very cute shops for tourists with lovely souvenirs and some wonderful dining establishments .
