A tiny place with so much to see and do.
A tiny place with so much to see and do. There’s so much more than fish and chips, cheap booze and monkeys. Fabulous nature reserve with caves and tunnels, all with centuries of history. Good museum in town and historical walking tours. Dolphin watching, diving, sailing and stunning bird migration area. Oh and some great restaurants.
All can be done by walking between the different area.

Got to La Linea in time for their annual La Feria,which always occurs in 2nd week of July. It was a lively and exciting period of time, there was plenty of places to eat and drink, and the town boasts at least 2 to 3 squares which have great atmospheres, the beaches are simply amazing!

There's a really enjoyable walk from the port, towards the east, through a very pretty park to a beach where there are two good restaurants.
It isn't a big tourist centre so you get a feel of the real Spain. People are really friendly.
Some good places to eat.

Alcaidesa is mainly a residential area with two golf courses. To get out and about you really do need a car or its about a 45 minute walk, downhill, to the nearest supermarket. Next to the supermarket there are also some bars and a couple of restaurants. One of the restaurants is an Indian which we recommend.

Yes it is ok to get around gibraltar you can never get lost as it is a small place and all the street take you into main street. but it is absolutely lovely. people are so friendly. Gibraltarians are so so nice.
I ate out in lovely restaurants, no need for me to go across the border into spain as i could find all the time i stayed in gibraltar plenty of places to visit. Activities I have always made my own, go swimming every morning at 7-30am just as the sun is showing in the horrison. shopping is great. The restaurants are all very welcoming. I love Gibraltar. The weather etc.

From Boat Haus there is easy access to Gibraltar. There are pavements to walk but if you are going in to Gibraltar with UK passport please be prepared for a wait . It took me 45 mins to pass through and same on way back , If you hold a EU passport less than 1 minute . Welcome to Brexit folks !!!!!!!

La Alcaidesa is a peaceful urbanisation close to the beach and surrounded by golf courses, making it perfect for people looking for either a relaxing golf break or a chilled beach holiday. Although it is not a traditional village, there is a central square within walking distance with plenty of bars, restaurants and a surprisingly lively atmosphere, especially in the evenings.
The nearby beaches are wild, spacious and beautiful, with some lovely coastal walks along the shoreline. Visitors should be aware that parts of some beaches are popular with nudists, which may or may not suit everyone.
One of the best things about La Alcaidesa is its location: it is close enough for easy drives to La Línea, Gibraltar and Algeciras, while still feeling far removed from the hustle and bustle. The area is surrounded by green hills and golf courses, and many spots enjoy beautiful views towards the Rock of Gibraltar.

I would say Gibraltar is definitely worth visiting because...
I would say Gibraltar is definitely worth visiting because of its unique history and character. However, one full day is generally enough to see the main attractions.
While the beaches are pleasant, you can find even better ones on the Spanish side of the border. We visited the Rock in the afternoon and, as it was getting late and the children were tired, we took a taxi up the mountain. If you start your day earlier, the walk can easily be done on foot and is a great way to explore the area.
Unfortunately, the cable car was out of service during our visit, so we paid £30 for the taxi and another £30 per person for access to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Looking back, I would recommend walking up instead, as it is a more economical option and allows you to enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.

The beaches are good, although due to contamination from broken sewage pipes the Levante beach was out of bounds. It is a pity that there are so many places that have just been allowed to decay, due to the former owners emigrating.
