The host Derek was exceptional, every detail covered, cleanliness was paramount and the ease of dealing with Derek was not only great, but lots of fun and laughter. It would have to be one of the best B&B’s we have stayed at. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay at Galway.

Oranmore was much more interesting than I expected.
Oranmore was much more interesting than I expected.
It has a very historic background, and there are many explanatory notices about the town. I was a little disappointed that Oranmore Castle was in private ownership and not available to amble around.
It was one of the towns raided by the Black and Tans in the 1920s, and there is a memorial to Joe Howley, a local shot dead in the war of independence.
I found the info on the origin of the name Oranmore fascinating. It derives from a spring, which is still to be seen. Fuaran (spring) changed to Uaran. -))

This B&B was a short drive to Galway city and offered a quiet refuge. We had stayed in the city for excitement and that was just fine but the Claregalway cottage was a welcome change -- the location was near to few businesses.

Galway is a great city to visit. The shops and restaurants were first rate. This is a very friendly city. Lots of music and great atmosphere. Our highlights were the Anear restaurant and a walking tour of the city.

A superb property with spotlessly clean rooms, peace, tranquility, and beautiful gardens. The breakfast was incredibly healthy and thankfully free of the usual excess. We slept in peace, and rose to a beautiful breakfast table. The manager takes great care of the place and treats her guests as if there are family. I wish we could have stayed a month rather than a few days.

Cleanliness in the room is first class. Furnitures are shiny and spotless up to the highest standard. Staffs were professional and welcoming. Friendly and very happy to help.
From the moment we arrived in the hotel, the accommodation delivered on every promise of comfort and luxury. When we entered our room, the smell was lovely and refreshing, the bed looks so beautiful and comfy, room very clean and presented nicely and bathroom very clean and shiny. A special thank you to the staff Trixie and Jackie for making our stay so memorable

Would not recommend, this hotel should not be 4 star.
Would not recommend, this hotel should not be 4 star.
Not central-misleading to say it is central when it's actually only central to Claregalway village. Stains all over carpets in hallways. Reception area depressing. Breakfast poor. Jacuzzi all plastic broke round the sides and a couple of bubbles, looked more like a dirty bath.

Lovely hotel. Overpriced. Good and drink very expensive. Loud music at breakfast??. Dark room. Staff were excellent .I had a complaint abd it was dealt with efficiently. The bar /restaurant was a bit intimidating. Partially blocked off??. Mot customer friendly. Too much contracting on foid. The local pub gets all your customers.
