What an unexpected pleasure. We booked this hotel at the last minute, needing a hotel with free parking. From the moment we arrived, we were so impressed by every member of the staff; from the helpfulness of the check in to the man who helped us find a close parking lot. The room was HUGE. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, the breakfast buffet convinced us to book another Route Inn hotel in Nagoya.
But the BEST thing about this hotel is the staff. Every staff member we encountered (front desk, breakfast, housekeeping} were exceptional in every way.

Loved that you felt a little like living as a local for the duration of the stay. All amenities available and included to allow for a more "self service" approach where you could avoid restaurants and cook for yourself if you wanted (with a small grocery store literally right around the corner). Staff were not present at all but were extremely attentive and communicative via booking.com messaging

We liked many aspects at the Dormy Inn Aomori Hotel, like the breakfast with many Japanese food, the larger room with twin beds (compared to the double bed rooms), the very nice Onsen bath, the very kind reception and cleaning staff.

Beautiful, new and stylish. The rooms were very clean and modern and comfortable. Really lovely restaurant for breakfast and a trendy quiet hotel bar. The onsen was also very nice. Great location if you want to stay in Aomori and visit other places in the area.
Breakfast, good spread of food for buffet. Staff is always very polite and helpful. The hotel is just a five min walk to the train station. Abd the Nokke don sushi center is just across the street.

Aomori region has plenty to see and this was a good base.
Aomori region has plenty to see and this was a good base. We easily travelled by train to Hirosaki and taxi to Jomon museum and historic site. We also explored Aomori city and the stunning festival floats at the Wa Rasse building.

A great base for many sights and attractions and museums...
A great base for many sights and attractions and museums both within Aomori and further afield.
Handy for the airport and has links to the Shinkansen and a well connected train and bus station.
Plenty of food options, great for seafood lovers.
There were a few places we didn't manage due to poor or no transport - Towada and Takayama Inari Shrine.

Aomori is well worth visiting for those looking to escape...
Aomori is well worth visiting for those looking to escape the crowds and experience the authentic charm of northern Japan. The region offers exceptional local seafood, stunning natural scenery, and beautiful waterfalls that remain largely untouched by mass tourism. We visited from 1–5 June 2026 and enjoyed a self-drive journey through both the mountains and the city. The landscapes and relaxed atmosphere left a lasting impression, and I would gladly return to experience Aomori again during the autumn foliage season or the snowy winter months.

Beautiful hotel. Hotel is connected to a large shopping area with Starbucks and food options. If you fly into AOJ, there is a bus that will take you to the bus stop at the hotel, and the train station behind the hotel is also connected to the hotel
