If you like basic (very basic) peace and quiet, beautiful sunrise and sunset, this is the place for you to relax. Boats do come in regularly a few in the weekday and more at weekends, but they usually go near the restaurant, so not too noisy. Host, Nak, is excellent and will help you with many things eg forward bookings, as remember there is no Wi-Fi. The food is adequate as to be expected on an island.

Amazing stay!
Amazing stay! Sihanoukville offers beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, and easy access to nearby islands. The atmosphere is lively, the seafood is fresh and delicious, and everything you need is conveniently close. A perfect coastal destination — highly recommended!

This is peace ! no cars no bikes only motors: generatators.
This is peace ! no cars no bikes only motors: generatators. Friendly helpful happy crowd, hiking in the Djungle, paddeling in the canoe around the island to coral bay go snorkling there, playing beach ball in the evenings, eating healthy tasty food. On the other side, 15 min on Kaktus beach you can see thd sunset, at last point you see sunrise.

Sihanoukville is quite a large city with the port used to access Koh Rong island. Though we liked our stay on Koh Rong if we went again we would have shortened our stay there and spent more time In Queenco Hotel on the mainland

What can I say about Sihanoukville that has not been said...
What can I say about Sihanoukville that has not been said before?
There are a lot of empty shells of buildings around, like gray tombstones marking the end of investment by a particular cohort of people that skidded to a halt because of COVID, government crackdowns on illegal gambling, and the fickleness of foreign investment.
The beaches are beautiful but are becoming more and more difficult to access. They are often guarded by walls and security guards. A close look at Google Maps will show you how big companies are buying up beachfront and then restricting access to it by making it their own private beaches.
The beaches are becoming more and more polluted with rancid smells and plastic rubbish spoiling the white sand.
Sihanoukville does not feel like Cambodia anymore. It could be anywhere in the world.
The casinos and restaurants obviously cater to a particular demographic, and it is hard to find any trace of Cambodian culture.
There are stories about organized crime, scam centers, and kidnapping but luckily, I did not encounter any of that. There were a lot of people with gangster tattoos but that could just be the fashion nowadays.
