One of the best mattresses and beds I had ever had in a staying on the road. Absolutely recommend. The staff was very kind and helpful, the place was clean, few furniture which I love, but the bed was huge and super comfortable. It's quite close to the airport but you need a taxi unfortunately (~12€).

We enjoyed our stay at Moradia Casa Feliz! It’s a beautiful property, very spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. Conveniently located close to the airport too. Good communication with the owner. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

The apartment was really nice, big, clean, it had everything that I needed, even more. There were even sun loungers to lie on the terrace! It has really cozy balcony with amazing city and ocean view. Owner of the apartment Patricia is very friendly and amazing person, she supported me with everything. I’d love to come back again. If you are looking for the clean accommodation where you can rest well and close to everything it’s definitely this option, I highly recommend.

Great place to explore the East of the island , Machico is a relaxed version of Funchal. Good beach for swimming and good restaurants. The east, except Sam Lauranco, is little explorer and all the better for that. It is our favourite part of Madeira, much like the island was when we first came 40years ago. Walk the small! Alvarez with no other walkers in sight, bliss.

Great location, calmer than staying in Funchal but close enough to easily visit different places. The best beach, with gold sand (imported from Morocco) is not far away by car, at Machico. Do hire a car though ..visiting places by taxi or local bus would not work so well (takes more time).

There's a very nice fancy restaurant (O Pescador) at the beach. Little bit expensive, but well worth it. Parking is difficult to find, though. The 45 min drive to Pico do Arieiro is a must early morning to see the sunrise.

if you like being somewhere rural and out of the way and...
if you like being somewhere rural and out of the way and quiet then it is a good place to stay. there only appeared to be 3 staff on duty at any one time. probably the best massage in the spa i have had. the pool is small but adequate and we never found it busy. if you are expecting a nice view from your bedroom, you won;t get it and the weather is colder than down on the coast!!!!

The Brasseiro restuarant not too far to walk to and I would strongly recommend visiting. The owner has one of the best collections of whiskey I have ever seen in my life for display purposes only. Very impressive to see. Food is great too. Value for our money and quality.

We loved exploring the charming little boutiques and even found a beautiful pink jacket for my daughter. The city square was wonderful, and we really enjoyed the long walks along the beach. One of the best parts was how close everything was to the airport — only about a 5–10 minute drive — which made traveling so much less stressful.
We would definitely stay here again. At the time, construction was still underway on part of the promenade, but we were still able to enjoy the area from a different viewpoint. Overall, we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back and do it all again.

Machico is a perfectly sized small town.
Machico is a perfectly sized small town. Everything is close by, it’s relatively clean, and there are several interesting restaurants. The airport is nearby, and many places can be explored on foot. It’s a great starting point for exploring that part of the island.

2nd time we stayed here, first time the weather was great everywhere, this time as the hotel is up in the mountains the weather was worse at the hotel then on other location on the island
It's a great spot if you want to avoid crowded places and are there for the hiking experience
If you want to go to the beaches and city its not recommended

Gaula is convenient for Funchal and the airport. But it is not the best part of Madeira. We much preferred the west coast and the middle of the island
The plant life and trees across the island are superb. And some of the scenery is breathtaking. A real gem of an island; we were pleasantly surprised over and over
