Beach Hotels in Praia do Almoxarife

We are travelling the Azores for a month. This has been the best place we've stayed. Joao is a fantastic host; always replying quickly to any query and such a helpful person. His house is modern, impeccably clean and has a beautiful location. Not only is it quiet but it's tucked away at the end of the beach so you hear the waves at night. Such a special place and our favourite place pretty much anywhere.

Perfectly situated near the beach and the town of Horta, this spot offers a breathtaking panorama of Mount Pico.

The hospitality and individual care and concern I was given at the Yurt campground was exceptional. The staff's main concern was making sure that I had everything I needed. They went above and beyond my expectations. The campground was also very clean and well-maintained. I have always wanted to stay in a Yurt and it did not disappoint. I stayed 5 nights and loved every minute of it. The campground is across the street from the beach in a very small, quiet and peaceful community. At night, the only things I could hearI were the sounds of the waves hitting the shore and the mating call of a local bird. I think the bird is a European Nightjar that breeds in May and early June. It was awesome! And though it was in the lower 50's (fahrenheit) and rainy, my Yurt and bedding kept me super warm and dry. I had some online work to do and the internet service was also exceptional. I never had an issue. I will definitely stay again if I ever get back to the Azores! I would love to share the experience with my family the next time.

Very nice apartment with nice terrace with beautiful view at Horta . The host was very kind and provided us with useful advice. We enjoyed our stay there.

The home was very nice.. another review said it was nicer than the pictures and I agree. Rui and Luisa are the parents of the host and were very accommodating, absolutely lovely people. They even helped us get to the home and gave us some food after a rough travel day that ended up with us arriving late to Horta. We very much loved the stay, including sampling from the impressive garden and barbecuing in the outdoor patio.

The property was clean. The bathroom was very good. The bed was firm but otherwise comfortable. It was within walking distance of the ferry terminal and the downtown waterfront.

Great view to Pico mountain. Big spaces. Fast internet.

Beautiful well maintained family home. Beautifully appointed and run by an absolutely delightful hostess, Ana. Wonderful breakfast, including a boiled egg in an egg cup!!!

Well, I’m back tonight for another stay. So that probably should say at all.

This is our favourite hotel in Horta. It’s a grand, historic place that is also a landmark for the sea port. Home of the transatlantic cable, the flying clippers, and sailors from around the world. It’s our 3rd stay here, very consistent , great breakfast, and perfect views of the harbour. It’s close to the ferry terminal , and to the beautiful piers that berth some of the most loved tall ships. Service at the hotel is outstanding. And don’t forget to have a swim in the lovely pool (indoor and out). We are already looking forward to our next stay here. Thank you to all the staff.

Nicolau was a wonderful host! He helped us with recommendations and reservations and responded quickly to any requests. The house is lovely and is in a wonderful location. The outside areas are a highlight!

Beautiful property that balances the modern with the traditional. Nestled in nature while preserving its raw beauty.
