Jesenia is one of the couple that owns/runs the lodge. She is an excellent cook making food in a wood fired oven. The outdoor tables overlooked a spectacular view and was teaming with humming birds. She made all meals and we had choice of what we would order for the meal. There was even fresh juice from fruits grown on property. Alvaro the other of the couple was extremely helpful, including taking on hiking trails and helping arrange excursions. He even helped me get my car free from the mud.

This lodge is totally devoted to birding. They have bird friendly plants all over the large property. There is even a banana plantation to grow bananas for the birds. I think it has been there five or six years and it is in the growing stage to become one of the top lodges for birding in Costa Rica. Fantastic staff, food is excellent. Be prepared to buzzed by hummingbirds all day :)

Comfortable, light and spacious, with thoughtful details and large sliding balcony doors which brought nature inside. The warm welcome, with a homemade banana muffin and coffee and the delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade bread, were wonderful. The cotton sheets and comfortable bed made for a restful sleep. Andreas and Ruth thought of every detail - I cannot wait to return to this paradise in the mountains with beautifully-tended tropical gardens. Close to town, Monte Sky, Lankester botanical garden. There are refrigerators in the bungalow and a separate outdoor kitchen available for guests to use.

Located in the middle of a natural reserve, Rinconcito Verde offers panoramic views of Irazu Volcano site and Cachi Lagoon.
