St. John’s B&B couldn’t have been nicer! Although we arrived late in the evening, Marie was welcoming and showed us to our very clean room. She asked us at what time we wanted our breakfast and had a full Irish (and some 😃) ready for us the next morning. Her homemade scones and brown bread were sensational. Out the dining room windows we saw their new calf and met Patch, their terrier mix dog. Marie gave us tips, maps, and info on what see in the area and gave us a tour of St. John’s old schoolhouse that is also available to book for a stay. It’s adorable! I can’t say enough about Marie and John’s hospitality and kindness. I hope to see them again if I make it to Ireland!

The breakfast was excellent, there was a very good variety on offer. I also appreciated the fact that although breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, there was no problem with me having breakfast starting at 8.15 as I had to make a 9am conference in Athlone Community College about 10 minutes drive away. The owners were extremely accommodating, helpful with restaurant choices to eat in on the night of my arrival and very friendly.

These Apartments are absolutely brilliant, our stay was made so enjoyable due to the comfort we enjoyed while staying here, large sitting room with 3 sofas, dining table & chairs, cable tv with Netflix, Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Microwave, Fridge, The bedrooms had a very comfortable double bed & Single bed, en-suite bathroom, ironing board,iron & hairdryer, the apartments were spotless clean, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, especially Mohammed, the owner Maureen is just the nicest host to deal with on the phone ensuring our stay went great, please note there are stairs up to the apartments which were not to bad as the staff carry your luggage up for you, Overall these apartments are better, if not the best to stay in ,than other places we have stayed in Athlone, as they are right in the town center.

Huge tv, great shower, very soft and clean beds. It was also right by the bus station and near town center.

Close to town, there is a wonderful pub in the building as well. Locals were friendly and interesting. The Owner/Hostess was amazing, super helpful and the Irish Breakfast was one of the best I had in Ireland. Loved the teapot and tea assortment in each room.
