United KingdomLovely, welcoming couple have renovated the house to an exceptionally high standard. The rooms were beautifully furnished & very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have the room with an en-suite bathroom & terrace. One evening we made use of the living room on the first floor.
There was so much choice at breakfast & the hosts give the impression that nothing is too much trouble.
We would love to come back to Vila Julieta & highly recommend a stay here.

United StatesBeautiful apartment with everything you need for a short or long stay. Very clean and modern. Like any city location the noise may be a concern. We always bring ear plugs and slept well. The location is excellent! Parking at the Mercado was perfect. We always bring g a carry on just in case we cannot comfortably navigate stairs with larger suitcases. We were on the 4th floor so having small carry on to
Replenish daily was important. At the Mercado parking lot we learned you can stay as long as needed for a small fee. Ask the attendant at the studio for details about a “lost ticket” when exiting the parking lot.

AustraliaStaff very welcoming and informative upon check-in. Took the time to show us on the map some points of interest such as tours and restaurants. Shown to our room, we had deluxe suite so very comfortable. Staff replaced bottles of water each day, linen, cleaned room and brought breakfast to the room at requested time. Overall a pleasant stay, close to downtown and with some amazing views.

LatviaLet me just start by saying how incredible my stay was. A lot of reviews say that the host is very nice and friendly, and they are exactly on point. Sílvia was very lovely and welcoming, I immediately felt at home upon arriving (and I did arrive quite late). The room is small but yet spacious, two windows allowing for air flow even in the crazy heat that Coimbra has experiences these days. Rest room is clean and cozy, the beds were amazing! There is a tiny bar just around the corner, where I made some friends the very first evening, because portuguese people are very easy to talk to! Also, the location was perfect, a 5 minute stroll downhill and you are at the heart of the city. I came for a work event that was 5 minutes ago, which was also a huge benefit. If I ever travel to Coimbra again, I will definitely stay at Patio da Gata, because a huge part of what made my trip amazing was the accomodation.

GermanyAlto Canto was a nice surprise on our trip to Portugal. Ana and Joanna made sure to stay in touch with us for arriving safely at Alto Canto. Driving down the cobble stone street and (easily) finding a parking spot near the house was a comfortable start into the locality of Coimbra. Stepping into the house, we became guests of the historic Coimbra - if you feel like spending a very few Euros more, go for the Superior King Room on the second floor. While I was looking for the lock on our room, my wife realized that we had rented the entire space with staircase, bedroom, large sitting room and two balconies overlooking the Mondego river :)
Breakfast was served in the (historic) kitchen room and you can enjoy the last cup of coffee sitting outside on the large terrace overlooking the lower parts of the city.
While we very much enjoyed our entire stay at Alto Canto, you do realize the challenges of keeping up with a larger historic building. Nonetheless, the entire place, including bedrooms and bathrooms, were kept very clean.
Alto Canto is located "below the university", just steps away from the city center.
Thanks a lot to Ana and Joanna for a great stay in Coimbra - and we happily recommend Alto Canto to fellow travellers coming to Coimbra!

Great location next to the train station and city center. The room was perfect for it's price, big bed and bathroom, a tv, a fan to keep you cool and spacious closet.
Bath was perfect, even though it's on a main road you barely hear a thing (room with side window).
The staff was very friendly throughout my stay.
The place was also really quiet during the day and night.

The decoration was really great, great location, had a nice rooftop and the bedroom had everything you needed and it was spacious! I would like to highlight the fact the Windows had sound proof sponges attached to them, wich made the room really quiet even when it was facing one of coimbra's main streets.
