Absolutely beautiful property , amazing view, clean, good food, sparkling pools, attentive staff-a 10+

I visited the Quinta da Barroca in May 2026 during my trip to the Douro Valley, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere and surrounding views were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall system and service of the hotel were exceptional. A special thanks to the receptionist, whose name was probably Alex. He was a very kind and helpful person and guided us very well throughout our stay. The breakfast was also good, and the best part for our family was the swimming pools. My children enjoyed them a lot. The nearby scenery outside the hotel was breathtaking and made the stay even more memorable. I would definitely love to visit again very soon.

It is a modern building with very big , nice and very comfortable rooms with front view to the vineyards hills and a little village. The large sitting area is bright and feels welcoming, the swimming pool is huge and has the same view as the rooms. The reception staff (Ruth) is lovely and makes you feel very welcome. Breakfast is great and a short drive to Armamar will take you to nice little places to have dinner. We totally enjoyed our stay.

José gave us excellent directions to reach the property. It has a lovely view over the vineyards. There is ample parking.

The host was very friendly and ready to answer to all our questions. We were enjoying hospitality in great vineyard, swimming pool, picking up the cherries, grilling.I would like to come again and for sure I recommend this host and his house.

An oasis in a tourist destination. The small town is quiet but near enough to the main tourist attractions to make it fabulous!

Everything - the location, facilities.. Beautiful house, tasty breakfast, very nice owner..

Everything! Well except the weather lol. We were greeted by our hostess and Superman. (Her lil munchkin) They gave us a tour of the place and oriented us with the facilities. The apartment is spacious, has everything you need and the terrace would be heavenly if you weren’t getting remnants of a cyclone.

The cottage was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was n the refrigerator and could have fed us fully for a week! Plus, our hostess brought by fresh cherries and eggs mid-way through the stay. We loved walking along the orchards and vineyards and slept well in the quiet village. Our stay at Casa da Vovo Luisa was a highlight of our visit to Portugal and we would definitely return.

The hosts were super friendly and helpful and the house was very spacious and ideal for a family/friends enjoying time together.
