Staff was super friendly and helpful. Welcoming drinks at the arrival, sparkling wine at the room. Spacious room with huge bed and even bigger pillows. Free access to the natural pools. As pools were too cold for us, we enjoyed the jacuzzi zone on the hotel roof. Breakfast was nice, with many fruit options and a nice view. Good value for money.

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 31 mi from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes.

Casa de Proteas is a lovely place to stay. Theresa was such a brilliant hostess, she made it feel like home.Breakfast was just right to set you up for the day. The food in the evenings was beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend Casa de Proteas for a beautiful and relaxing holiday destination.

The hotel has an exceptional location. Room is clean, spacious and cosy. The breakfast was full of choices. The offer of excursions is very nice. The absolutely pleasant and warm to my heart was the attention to me. The greetings before breakfast were so sincere and kind. We really loved our stay at Studio Home Away From Home. Telma was a fantastic host — very welcoming and kind. She greeted us with delicious pastéis de nata and local cider, which was such a lovely touch. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were spacious and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring Madeira. The location is also great — there are excellent restaurants and a bakery just a stone’s throw away, which was very convenient. Highly recommended, we would happily stay here again!

Amazing location and view from the balcony! It is not modern, but has everything you need. Way better than so-called 4-Star Resort in Machico!!!! And cheaper and more space!

The apartment was really nice, big, clean, it had everything that I needed, even more. There were even sun loungers to lie on the terrace! It has really cozy balcony with amazing city and ocean view. Owner of the apartment Patricia is very friendly and amazing person, she supported me with everything. I’d love to come back again. If you are looking for the clean accommodation where you can rest well and close to everything it’s definitely this option, I highly recommend.

Property is perfectly situated right in the heart of the town, steps away from the ocean. Space was very clean and had all you need . Owners were extremely nice , providing us helpful tips for trips around and also had a cold six pack of beer and another six pack of cider in the fridge as a welcome gift. Would sure go back .

This was an incredible stay! The flat is situated in the center of Funchal, very close to everything: supermarkets, parking lots, restaurants, shopping. We were on the 4th floor facing the internal patio, no noises, no issues, no problems. The flat is very new and had everything we needed for cooking our own breakfasts. It is great value for money and Madeira is an incredible location to visit.
