Cheap hotels in Santiago Atitlán

Very impressive property. They have a helipad and a dock on the lake… you can take a private boat from any town on Lake Atitlan. The staff was super professional and friendly. Very clean.

I am so incredibly grateful for the staff at this property! I hurt my ankle, and I was just going to hobble to my room. They saw me as I was coming in and asked how I was, and next thing I knew they were helping to make sure I saw a doctor, if needed, bringing me medicine, and giving me ice to put on it. It ended up being quite the ordeal. Going to the doctor, involved two hospitals, a separate doctor, and have another doctor come to the hostel. They went above and beyond, in my opinion, and I felt cared for as if I was family. After the hospitals, they moved me to a room on a lower floor free of charge, and they even gave me a ride to Guatemala City the next day and helped me by holding onto my big backpack (which I couldn’t carry because of my ankle and couldn’t find a place to store otherwise). Even before I got injured, it was clear that that staff and owners were lovely people. When I arrived, there was a warm and friendly energy, and they were super helpful in terms of offering support around, figuring out what combination of buses I would need to take the next day. The hostel is in a great location, right by the market and the church. There’s a big kitchen that you can use if you want to cook your own food. I don’t think there’s much more that a traveler could want! If you’re looking for an authentic local experience, away from some of the more touristic villages on the lake, I think you can’t go wrong staying here.

The location was great, however parking was very tricky. We did arrive late and it took a while to get help from the front desk but once we found someone they were super friendly and helpful. Views were amazing, and the breakfast included in the morning.. was absolutely delightful.

We LOVE this hotel! We weren’t sure what to expect as it’s a new hotel on Booking, but Casa Don Cristóbal did not disappoint!! Everything is brand new and so beautiful down to the last detail. The views from the rooms are no less than breathtaking. Waking up each morning with a direct view of the mountains and the lake was a dream and we loved being able to grab a fresh cup of coffee downstairs and enjoy it from either our balcony or while in bed enjoying our panoramic view. The true highlight though, was getting to know the owner, Nelson. He’s a San Juan local, who has also spent time living abroad and is just such a fun and welcoming guy to everyone! He has such a positive spirit and is always willing to help a fellow traveler in need any way he can. When our ride to Xela fell through last minute, he sat with us and helped us, until it was resolved. He saved us and other guests multiple times with his mental Rolodex of amazing recommendations while we were there and is truly just a genuinely good person. He even checked in with us to make sure we made it to our next destination safely. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else on Lake Atitlan when we return! Thank you Nelson and the amazing Don Cristóbal family!

Very quiet and comfortable. Large room with private bathroom and kitchen just outside of the room. The owner Alicia is a sweetheart. Easy to get to from the boat dock . 10 to 15 minutes walk up the main road. Head to Hotel San Pablo on the left and they'll contact Alicia who will bring you the keys.

The people were very nice! The room and bathroom were clean, and a good price. I was with my two teen daughters. Some street noise as to be expected, but I brought a travel sound machine, so we didn't hear anything and slept well! Good amount of space to put our things on the wardrobe shelves and the table between the beds. We stayed one night to see the quetzal in the early morning with a guide. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the rooftop terrace room. Great views and very private. Loved it.

Beautiful luxury eco hotel with a warm, community feel. Staff go above and beyond to help. Restaurant patio is the best spot to watch the sunset and grab a meal!

The location is on Volcan San Pedro. To arrive you take a lancha to Santiago where the owner will pick you up for a short ride to the cabin. He is very flexible and will take you to the mainland whenever you need to, making it a cozy cabin experience.

Very professional staff, clean, pure nature, relaxing and peaceful environment. Close to main road and town. The architecture blends with the surroundings nature.

Everything was perfect, especially the view! The stuff was terrific and the place very tranquil.
