The place is marvelous, very clean and welcoming, really close to the nature! Make sure to take the boat trip and say hello to Mantequilla and Princesa, the hotel pets.

Amid a tropical forest, these bungalows are the perfect site for guests to go canoeing at the nearby lake, or enjoy the outdoor pool and gardens. The property has its own fruit orchard.

Beautiful property and well maintained. Very peaceful and serene. There are several trails and lagoons to walk around. The bird watching is excellent and I was able to see the Green Macaws! The restaurant is fine dining and excellent food. The cabins are all facing the lagoon and are really private with lots of tropical plants surrounding the cabins. The beds are comfortable.

Great place for birding. Excellent guide, Didier. Food is adequate in the small restaurant. Canoes to paddle the lagoons. Outstanding photography locations for birds.

If you like nature and personal assistance, this is the place you need. Hosts are brilliant, they assist you with everything as long as you want it. Lodge is on coast of river. Breakfast is always together with birds watching. One should not expect the lodge as a comfortable hotel. there is not air conditioning. But such personal assistance one wouldn't get in any 5 star hotel. Besides that Alan is very nice tour guide.

With mountain views, Hotel Pedacito de Cielo is located in Boca Tapada and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden and terrace.

The included breakfast was good and prepared fresh and the open air dinning room is great with hummingbird feeders and feeders for other birds as well next to the dinning area so you have a great view while you dine. The hotel offers many excursions including a not to be missed guided boat trip on the Rio Juan Carlos to the boarder with Nicaragua. A short drive away the hotel owners own a large forested property with trails which you can walk at no cost but I would recommend the guided trip so as not to miss anything!
