We enjoyed staying away from Queenstown but still close enough for day trips and exploring. Beautiful area, parking available on site, and even great location to catch some star gazing at night.
Don't second guess staying here if you're passing through- it's absolutely worth it! Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We forgot our foods in the fridge while the owner contacted us immediately and kept them for us to pick up during the trip. Free wine tasting in small group(actually only us) was unexpected, and found truely premium Pinot /resieling which changed my perception of NZ wines. Enjoying a cup of tea at the table in the pergola with mountain view and vineyard near by. Missed out public wine tasting which should offer more bottles in the other building, well, probably another time. Staff in reception and restaurant are nice and helpful.

The breakfast was excellent good start to the day. The breakfast layout presentation, variety of continental and cooked breakfast on offer awesome. Cafe in the ballroom cooked meals including cabinet food also affordable and cozy with the open fires. Larnach Castle interior with areas for public to view it's a grand place to see in person. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to stay on the grounds to enjoy for few days. Stayed late July and the area was quiet if you want a relaxing stay.

Location was absolutely breathtaking, loved that we could see animals out and about while we walked around. The spa was wonderful and the room was surprisingly warm and cosy considering its winter! We came for my husband’s birthday and was the icing on the cake of our trip! Great attention to detail too, like robes, slip ons, chair/tables that were easy to manoeuvre around for whatever you need! Perfect!

We were lucky to get an upgrade to a 2 bedroom chalet. It was spacious and warm. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were clean. There were car parks really close to the chalet. A really lovely place to stay

The room was very clean, well kept, new, and had everything we could’ve asked for and more. The owners are really nice and friendly, Mark offered to have us check out a little late upon hearing that my partner was running a high fever. We had an exceptional stay at Archway Motel & Chalet, 100% recommended.
