An amazing place, we've visited it first in winter (Jan 2026) for skiing, we liked it so much we had to see it in summer too, so we went (in Jul 2026) for cycling. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The place is especially suitable for families with kids, as at the top of the lifts there are kids paradises. On top of that. great connection to/from Salzburg, Innsbruck or Munchen.

Ellmau is a great mountain village.

Ellmau is a great mountain village. If you like hiking, you can consider purchasing a Summer ski lift Card giving you access to 14 lifts in the region. An absolute must is the Hintersteinersee. A beautiful mountain lake with clear blue water and a controlled swimming area.

Wonderful place for hiking and nature lovers. Also a great spot if you followed the Bergdoktor series. If you speak German, you can get the most out of your stay, but we could also get on with English.

A stunning area in Austria, we stayed for 1 week for the skiing season which was perfect. We also thought that it would be a wonderful place to visit and stay, in Pension Rainer, for a walking holiday. The facilities, bars, cafes and restaurants were fantastic and everyone we met without exception were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend and would definitely like to return again.

An attractive city with nice Austrian flair. Offers just the right amount of choices both for restocking your fridge and for dining out. Well organized Ski facilities. Bus to Hartkaiserbahn every 15 minutes all day long.

Ellmau is a nice village in the Brixental, with direct connection to the mountains. Nice place for skiing if there is snow enough. Later in the spring time they do the best to keep the slopes in a good condition and Skiwelt is a large area, so it's not difficult to find good slopes for skiing. Only when it is warm weather in the winter and many people comes (typically on Saturdays when many people from Munich comes here for one day skiing) then in the afternoon the condions for skiing are not so good like in the morning, it can be felt that the altitude of Skiwelt is not very high. Very good and nice restaurants everywhere for some lunch during the skiing day. We were satisfied with our family skiing stay.

This is a wonderful house with very comfortable apartment in the mountains, couple of km s from Ellmau. Well equipped kitchen and BBQ area. You can enjoy your morning coffee from the terrace or from your living room with a perfect mountain view. By car close to Ellmau, Going, to restaurants and shops, also to the Wilder Kaiser cable cars. Perfect place for relaxation after hiking or having excursions nearby.

We loved the outdoor heated pool, very welcome after a day skiing. Nice rooms, fair size. Nice bar to play games in as a family. Ski storage beneath the rooms. Ski in / out. Right next to the gondola. Lovely long blue run (80) to get back to the hotel. Underground car park beneath hotel.

Exceptional boutique hotel in a gorgeous village. The team, facilities, beautiful rooms and surroundings were all superb. Really enjoyed the pool areas - inside & outdoors. The restaurant and breakfast were also excellent quality. Hope to return in the future and would highly recommend.
