The room was beautiful, had amazing views of the mountains and fields, lovely listening to the cows and their bells. The indoor outdoor swimming was the same views as the room so it was lovely. The food was fantastic as was the salad buffet and the breakfast. It was good having an underground garage, that was free of charge. The whole hotel is geared to for disabled people and you could tell, it was so easy to move around and everything was flat, would recommend it to anyone, but if you are in a wheelchair or struggle with mobility this is definitely the hotel for you. Also there was an added bonus of afternoon snacks, hot and cold, cakes, tea and coffee all were very nice xx

Out of the way enough to not be too crowded, no night life...

Out of the way enough to not be too crowded, no night life to speak of, fantastic setting and views, sensory overload. Narrow twisty roads, precious few restaurants within 10k. Easy hop over to Italy, Glaciers are interesting and scenic. If you want to slow down, this is a great place to do it!

Cozy village full of nice and friendly people! Easy to move. Ski buses are well organized. The swimming pool and sauna facilities are magnificent! Especially the sauna is exceptional! Very high quality, regular infusions by volunteers! Splendid!

We love the location...the town is quiet, small enough for...

We love the location...the town is quiet, small enough for the kids to wonder about on their own but has just enough amenities (climbing wall, local store, pool) for our kids to enjoy for a week. The glacier is simply magical especially after it snows. Again, easy to use for families, big enough to have fun but small enough so you can always find the kids plus everyone can always meet at the bottom. My only complaint is the quality and diversity of the food available up on the glacier (too sweet, too fried and too salty). Still, have been coming to Kaunertal for 8 years and plan on being back next year!

Remote, so not crowded.

Remote, so not crowded. Very family friendly, nice little spa, all the necessary amenities. Fabulous nature, nature park. Amazing Gletcher skiing area - always snow, also in late Spring, fantastic freeride opportunities, not very many, but excellent slopes for intermediate and expert skiers and snowboarders. Limited opportunities for beginners at Gletcher, must go to Fendels for that.

Kaunertal is a great valley, not so crowded as other...

Kaunertal is a great valley, not so crowded as other Austrian glacier valleys probably because of its more difficult access. From the highest point where you can stay for a night you still need to climb around 1000 vertical meters by car (or bus) to reach the ski resort. Ski buses only go once an hour and it takes at least 45 minutes to reach the top because the driver needs to load skis to a box behind the bus at each stop. The ski resort is not a huge one but you definitely have a lot of great slopes to choose from for both beginners and advanced skiers. We really enjoyed it there and consider it to be one of the best Austrian glaciers. Sometimes the ski resort or the road to the glacier is closed because of wind or snow but they count with it and sell ski passes that always give you one extra free day (e.g. 3 out of 4 days). On a windy day when the glacier was closed we went to Sefaus-Fiss-Ladis which a huge ski resort just round the corner but much more crowded than Kaunertal Glacier.

A definite must for motorcyclists, the nearby Glacier Road is amazing, the landscape breathtaking and the surrounding alpine environment is beautiful, crisp and calming. The result is a dream of a ride!

The hotel is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains.. Our room was cleaned every day.. We were a late arrival (after dinner was finished) and the the staff manager was very kind to organise dinner for us anyways, which we appreciate a lot having two small kids. The dinners were nice, we liked all our meals..

Great location, very friendly owners, had an amazing stay here. There is a hiking trail just behind the house. We also rode our motorcycle on Kaunertaler Gletscherstrasse which is very much recommended. The apartment was very clean and spacious. There was even a real Edelweiss flower in a small vase in the living room!

Elfi was very kind and spoke to me every day with consideration, so I was able to stay very comfortably. The gym is right in front of the hotel, and it's a great location with easy access to Kaunertal, Hochzeiger, and Pitztal.
