When we were there the village was quiet and we had great...

When we were there the village was quiet and we had great weather. It can be good for sunsets. We self catered so cannot comment on the restaurants but there are two stores and a petrol station that had most things you would need. It's great for walking. We walked both directions partly around the lake including to St. Wolfgang where I can warmly recommend Julia's Imbriss Treff for a light lunch. Of course from there you can get the cog railway up to the Schafberg which is dramatic and was one of the three top highlights of our time in Austria. We also visited Salzburg, Mondsee and Hallstatt,though the later was already quite busy even in what is a shoulder season.

Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming.

Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming. City itself is much calmer than the other ones (St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang), but still there is everything what would you need, water fun, grocery store, ice cream stand.

It is a really nice little lake town, well located to nice...

It is a really nice little lake town, well located to nice hikes and great restaurant options. Cleanest alpine lake I have seen and such lovely small town vibe. we loved it even more that Halstatt, St Wolfgang, Kaprun and Zell am see!

Excellent , a walk by the lake and a splendid dinner at Carl-Zone can really make your day. You can enhance your trip by hopping on to any of the boats and visit near by places be it St Gilgen etc , There is boat running between Strobl , St Gilgen and other small villages located by the lake (Wolfgansee) , hope to get the name right

Strobl is perfect, everything you need is there -- shops, restaurants, bakery, tobacco shop, post, banks, gas station,... Very good starting point, we went both sides of the lake by bikes, used the ferry, as well as the beach there.

Not as crowded as other cities around Wolfgangsee, but...

Not as crowded as other cities around Wolfgangsee, but offers good spots for swimming, including beaches. Also nice, but rather short promenade along the shore. Do not expect many live pubs or bars, but the number of restaurants is sufficient. Other towns (St. Wolfgang etc.) are easily accesible by public trasnsport.

Easy to find, easy for parking, has everything what you need for your stay. And absolutely amazing view from balcony. Having breakfast and watching sunrise over Wolfgangsee well super cool. 5 min by car to supermarket, 5 min to center of Strobl.
