This family run bed and breakfast was a delight to stay in. We had a triple room with plenty of space, with en-suite, and balcony with views to the mountains. WiFi was great and breakfast was ample and varied with all the coffee or tea you need. We used the free parking provided. It was an easy short walk to the cable car, but a harder walk down to and back up from the main town area (so we drove). There were extras available that we didn’t have time for. But we all wished we could have stayed longer.

While there isn’t a huge amount of activity or major...

While there isn’t a huge amount of activity or major attractions directly inside the town itself, Wagrain is an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful place to stay. It offers a wonderfully quiet alpine atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Its biggest advantage is its location: it is quite close to many of the region's major attractions, making it an ideal, hassle-free base for day trips and exploring the surrounding area. If you are looking for a beautiful, serene spot to return to each evening, Wagrain is highly recommended!

Gorgeous view of mountains, great place for nature-lovers, you can spend there some quality time both in winter & in summer. Hallstatt, Zell am See, Dachstein are only 1 hour drive from Wagrain. Be aware of toll roads & tunnels (above the motorway fee). If you are travelling with kids, they will enjoy the Hermann Maier Freizeitpark in Flachau (ca 15-20 mins drive from Wagrain). You should check out the opening schedule of supermarkets and restaurants, eg. after 9 PM, you might not find any open places or restaurants could have their own break days.

Wagrain is all about skiing.

Wagrain is all about skiing. If you don't ski, there isn't much to do around Wagrain. Swimming pool opens in the afternoon, so does the skate ring. If you have kids, there is no much other fun things to do. Most of the restaurants open at 5 pm. If your hotel doesn't offer lunch meals, you can only help yourself with snack from the two spar groceries in the village. The ski bus is great, it runs every 10 min. However, the streets are narrow and it may get quite tight, if you meet a bus while driving.

Wagrain was a good base for many activities in a family...

Wagrain was a good base for many activities in a family summer vacation: Super close: - Grafenberg - great views, a big playground for kids - Jaegersee - a lake with amazing view and a restaurant (I recommend the icecream). There is a short hiking trail around the lake and you can rent boats. - Flachau indoor waterpark - Not a must, but good for rainy days (can be very crowded) Up to 1h drive: - Salzburg - Lichtensteinklamm - Beautiful but very crowded - I recommend arriving right at opening time - Gosausee - Beautiful lake also with a hiking trail - Grollinger waterfall - Hallstatt - Very crowded so arrive early or don't bother.

Small town but a good location for walks around. Also, close by car from other nice cities. The Wagrain card gives you some discounts. You can go to the warm pools for free, and these are great. Kids loved it

The space was very clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable and heating etc worked efficiently. Location is good for ski lift for adults around a 10min walk with gear, and near by shops are very convenient. We also liked People z bar which is attached to the sister hotel. Ski room is great, modern and warm but unfortunately not secure (see below).

The hotel was really nice and cozy, just a few rooms so it was quiet. The staff were super nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. And a very big positive was a ski bus stop like 50 meters from the hotel so we didn’t need our car at all. And for dinner you could grab fantastic pizza at the hotel restaurant!

If you are looking for a place in a prime location with a dreamy, pastoralic Austrian view, on top of a mountain, immersed in nature and close to many attractions - Finkhof is the place. The apartments are new and fully equipped, the owners are a charming young couple who will be happy to make your vacation perfect.

Hotel is in a great location, just 1 ski bus stop to the gondola. There is a ski boots drying room in a barn next doors. The rooms are nice with plenty of storage space. The happy hour in the bar was a great deal.
