We had a wonderful stay at Berghotel Schmittenhöhe in Austria! The food was absolutely fantastic every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. After a long day on the slopes, it was such a treat to sit down to delicious, hearty dishes. One of the best parts of staying here was the incredible ski-in/ski-out access. Being able to ski right to the door made everything so convenient and stress-free. No hauling equipment, no long walks just pure mountain enjoyment from start to finish. And the view absolutely spectacular! If you're looking for a cozy alpine stay with amazing food, unbeatable slope access, and stunning views, this is the place. Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Traube in Zell am See, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views of the lake and mountains that can be enjoyed from the comfort of our room. The accommodations were cozy, modern, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring. The hotel's amenities are top-notch. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a delicious variety of fresh local produce, pastries, and hearty options to fuel our adventures. Zell am See itself is a gem, with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy year-round. Whether hiking, skiing, or simply strolling around the charming town, there’s something for everyone. Overall, Hotel Traube exceeded our expectations and made our stay in Zell am See truly memorable. I can't wait to return!

The location was amazing with truly ski on and ski out...and great even for non-skiers with access to 3 gondalas. The lockers even had boot heaters! The room was perfect for families and the food and staff were exceptional! Every night...the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Having a massage, pool, sauna on site was great and made our vacation easy and perfect... especially for the price!

Mountain Paradise in Salzburg Province

A paradise in the Austrian state of Salzburg, Zell am See is located along the shores of the Zell Lake and surrounded by mountains like the 2000-metre high Schmittenhöhe. It is an important ski centre in the winter and a hiking and mountain-biking paradise during summer.

The area has been occupied since Roman times, but the village was founded around the year 740 by the order of Bishop Johannes I of Salzburg. The picturesque Old Town includes typical Alpine style buildings, as well as the oldest building of the region, St. Hippolyte's Church. The Austrian area of Zell am See offers a wide range of hotels, B&B’s, apartments, and guest houses.

Beautiful place, since we had a short visit to Austria and had to cover 3 main places so missed to enjoy the local attractions available in Zell Am See. One of the best and cleanest place we've ever seen, my...

One of the best and cleanest place we've ever seen, my husband and I were talking about, we have not seen any rubbish on the road, very friendly people where ever you go. Will sure go back in the future, we only stayed 4 days, I think 1 week should be enough for you to see the places.

Tourist hot spot with lots to do but consequently do not feel immersed in nature. Lots of tourism from the middle east which the town caters for very well but it was not the Austrian vibe we were expecting.

It's a small historic town right beside a beautiful lake.

It's a small historic town right beside a beautiful lake. There are lots of things to do and various walks for any ability. It is also very easy to get around on the buses and trains. As a bonus there is a water jet fountain show every afternoon plus a late evening one with lights 3 x weekly! Would highly recommend this location for young, old and families!

This time the weather did not play. I have been here many times before and it hasalways been very good. For fitness activities, swimming, walking, cycling and suchlike it is perfectt. The town centre is attractive with many restaurants cafes and gift shops. The people are friendly and helpful. One might be surprised by the number of Arabs here but they are all polite and interested. Like many small towns in the area there is little to do when the weather is bad. Museums are well laid out and I enjoyed visits to them but there is no cinema and few places to just sit and rest..

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It is modern, exceptionally clean, and the rooms are spacious and fully equipped with everything you need. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great variety of delicious options. A special thanks to the dining room staff who were incredibly polite and attentive, especially Dalma, who deserves a special mention for her outstanding service! The entire hotel staff was kind and welcoming throughout our stay. We will definitely come back!

The owners and everyone who worked at the Hotel Landhaus were super friendly and hospitable. We arrived early and were immediately welcomed with a cup of coffee. The room wasn’t ready yet but they gave us a room to get dressed and made sure our bags were in our room after we arrived from the apres ski. Besides that was the food good, a nice Austrian breakfast. And a warm welcome every morning when you walked in. Would definitely recommend the hotel and go back.

The apartment is well equipped with everything we needed. Beautifully furnished. The location is stunning. Wonderful views of Zell am See lake and mountains. Watched locals ice skating on the lake and great for walks around the lake. Short bus ride into Zell am See for shops, restaurants and the ski lifts. There is a restaurant nearby and we had takeaway from there too.

The room was spotless and well-maintained. While the hotel itself is not newly built, it’s clear that the owner has lovingly cared for it, and everything was in perfect order. The owner was very kind and even provided us with the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card, which turned out to be extremely useful during our stay

We were in Zell Am See for the Ironman 70.3, the location was perfect as the finish line was just a few minutes walk away, as was the railway station. The staff were very helpful and friendly both in the hotel and La Locanda restaurant which is attached to the hotel.
