A really great experience, highly recommended! Owners are lovely and very caring and kind, and great to talk to. The place is amazing and in a decent position to the rest of the island which helps for getting around. It has a gorgeous view overlooking the lagoon, beautiful wooden and natural theme inside the main lobby lounge area and very calming and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are great and have what you need, and for the price this is an absolute bargain and excellent quality.

The Rusty Kangaroo blew us away. It is absolutely Awesome! The views are amazing the location is very secluded and quiet. The owners are amazing. We were greeted immediately on arrival by Sylvia and Ian. She had a map and had marked the best places and best kept secrets of places to see. We had 3 nights and wish we would have allowed more time. Sylvia booked us ahead for a very unique trip to see the seals on the far end of the island and planned our itinerary to be able to work our way back and have time to see the best places on the island. She even noted where to stop for lunch and wine and gin tasting. Back at the house we had kangaroos feeding very close to the house every evening and morning. This was a real treat for us. We had not seen kangaroo in the wild up to that time so it was very cool. The house itself was beautifully appointed with every comfort needed. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques and very unique decor. Sylvia and Ian have thought of everything. We really loved every minute and the time went way too fast. The island people are so friendly and welcoming.

The cutest glamping experience. Perfect location, beautiful view. We stayed in fancy tents and they even had running water and a/c! The walls zipped open and closed for privacy and airflow. Fabulous deck with chairs to sit out.

Close to the sea. 10 minute drive to Penneshaw to see Fairy Penguins. Half hour drive to Bee Hive tour & more beachside in this township. Think it was Northcote. There was a supermarket & two fish & chip places - one where you could get petrol. Nice little town.

Fabulous location.

Fabulous location. If you ar after peace and quiet, this is the place. Very well equiped, ( the food for breaky was amazing) Room was very clean, warm and cosy. 10 min drive to Penneshaw and lots of scenic drives to to places of interest. Highly recommend this accomodation to everyone.

Figtree B & B value for money - would recommend it for...

Figtree B & B value for money - would recommend it for anybody interested in keeping costs down .... The Penneshaw Hotel was our choice for dinner - booking essential We had 2 take way dinners from Amandas' in Kingscote ( good selection of meals) Be aware Figtree B & B is located on unsealed road , as is Baudin Beach) so try not to arrive in the evening as street lighting is poor

It was close to Penneshaw and the Beach.

It was close to Penneshaw and the Beach. But the beach is very rocky and not somewhere where you can go into the water. The place was clean and has basic necessities. No bedside clock, books or board games. There were 4 year old magazines.

Ideal location for us to use as a base for daily trips to...

Ideal location for us to use as a base for daily trips to various places on the island. A quiet, clean and tidy room with breakfast provided at no extra cost. Would always try and book at The Fig Tree if/ when visiting the island on some future occassion. It was a pleasure to meat Leahsha, the proprietor, and wish her well in her business.
