The two-bedroom unit was spacious and had everything we'd expect: a kitchen, a living room, a dining area, etc. More importantly, it was in a great location.

I recommend not going when you’ve had a lot of rain.

I recommend not going when you’ve had a lot of rain. The walking tracks become very muddy and slippery. If you have the right gear then go for it! There are other tracks on the other side of the mountain where the sun shines more so it’s drier. Definitely do the horse and buggy ride! It was so fun. My 7 yr old loved it. We saw a bowerbirds nest with all of the blue items he has collected. Definitely get some seeds and feed the cockatoos outside Poppy’s Cafe.

Perfect location for walking trails which are very well maintained and clearly marked. Make sure you check restaurant opening times and definitely book in advance for dinner. Kitchen in unit was fully equipped- bring enough bread, milk, eggs and fresh produce as the shop only has a limited stock of these items and they are pretty pricey. Very friendly and helpful staff were great with providing extra towels and wood for the fireplace.

Tavern was small and very good.

Tavern was small and very good. Shop well supplied but a bit expensive. Unit was good, would use fire place in winter and next time will take more of our own supplies to optimise the use of full kitchen (with all cutlery, crockery in situ).

I looked at houses to rent in the two private sections and the people from the real estate were very helpful. The National Parks are currently making big improvements so it was a bit of a construction site around the Tavern. I wanted to have a late breakfast at Poppies but even though it was supposedly open there was no one there to serve me and when I looked at the outdoor eating area there were birds all over the tables so I decided to go back to the Tavern to eat. I am looking forward to another trip there next year.

We did enjoy the walk but were very disappointed with the state of the forest in some areas. The nearby creek was very overgrown and it appeared that other forest areas were badly affected by Phytophthora.

The accommodation was certainly NOT what was depicted on the website. The apartment was drab, walls damaged and somewhat damp. The apartment was outdated and had the smallest television with two, old and uncomfortable lounges quite a distance from the television. No cushions for comfort nor aesthetics. It felt damp, the curtains were drawn creating a dark and miserable welcome. The bathroom - particularly the shower was old and rusted it didn’t spray correctly, the shower door so narrow you had to contortion your body to enter and exit. Mould galore on the walls of the shower recess. It was a dismal night of accommodation. On the up side - the restaurant experience was pretty good. A lovely waitress and acceptable pub food. We were glad we were leaving the next morning. Please refurbish these apartments. Ours was booked as a ‘superior’ apartment! Please. There was nothing superior about the experience what so ever.
