The Exchange was by far the best of our stays in Tasmania. Gavin and Donna have beautifully renovated the gorgeous old building using materials from around the site. The majestic Huon Pine staircase leads up to the bedrooms and breakfast room. Breakfast is a vast selection of cereals, breads, yogurts, teas, fruit and herbal teas, instant and fresh coffee. Parking is on site too. Our bedroom was compact, quiet and super comfortable. You really don’t need anything other than a bed, a chair and a luggage table. Netflix is available too. The private bathroom is located just down the hall with quality shampoo, conditioner, handwash and bodywash and the MOST LUXURIOUS TOWELS ever. There are ensuite rooms available too and they are huge and not much more expensive. The bar, open certain evening, serving a great selection of Tassie beers and Tassie boutique gins (I had a fabulous tasting time 😊). Soo much old-world charm. Only 40 min drive to Launceston and 1 hour to Devonport makes The Exchange the perfect place for a stopover. Whilst you’re there visit Seahorse World, Platypus World and Beaconsfield Mine. Tasty Bite Indian across the road is great for tea and Jubilee Bakery for breakfast.

Georgetown is a beautiful historic spot and is home of the Tamar Valley Folk Festival. As with all of Tasmania, great views where ever you look. A justifiably proud population welcome musicians and enthusiasts every year to one of the friendliest folk music festivals you could hope to find.

Really enjoyed the historical aspects of George Town and the beautiful waterways. Also used it as a base to see Scottsdale, Lillydale and Bridport. Nice aspects to each but Bridport was the biggest surprise - just stunning and brilliantly curated.

The tranquil setting on the Tamar River is picturesque and relaxing. Great for walks. The township had all the shops and facilities a visitor needs to make their stay comfortable . The area is rich in history. A visit to Low Head Pilot Station is very interesting and the cafe next to it on the water is highly recommended. It is full of playgrounds & picnic areas.

Very chilly, with a cold wind at the time of our visit, but we drove around so I could take photos of the many beautiful old buildings & homes. Spent a very interesting time at the Pilot Station museum , and cafe there, having a truly scrumptious lunch. The history and artifacts in the museum was far more interesting than i expected, and the guardian volunteers who "man" the entrance were so interesting in their narration. The Low Head area is lovely also, and our highlight of that area was the Penguin Tour at dusk on our first evening, and the absolutely great accommodation and food at the Comfort Inn, The Pier was beautiful, with the waterfront right outside our door.

From George Town we also visited Beaconsfield (Gold Mine) and Beauty Point (Sea Horse World - where there was a good restaurant) on the eastern side of the Tamar River traveling over the Batman Bridge. Nearby was the 'Bass & Flinders Museum' and Low Head Pilot Station (with cafe) and Lighthouse.

Unique, incredible atmosphere and view. Comfortable, and the lack of required physical key allows the place to feel especially yours, and you dont have to worry about if you "forgot the key" or needing to drop it off. Overlooks george town and surrounding areas. We woke up to see a sea of fog over the areas which was incredible. They provide a great value for the experience and facilities. I would gladly rebook this accommodation in the future.

Wasn't sure what to expect, as l don't stay in BnBs normally....l would typically do the motel/hotel thing. Everything was just of a higher level of comfort than l'm used to, it was a pleasantly comfortable stay 😀 Ros was very flexible, l checked in late night which wasn't an issue. Definitely recommend to others 👌
