Hopetoun is a friendly, pretty small town with a beautiful lake. It is a great base to explore the Mallee and the Silo Art Trail.
The community hotel provides good evening meals. The Meals Box is to be recommended for its delicious homemade Indian curries as well as great coffee and takeaways. There is a small, well-stocked IGA supermarket in town. Be aware of weekend, opening hours to purchase supplies. Accommodation is available at the motel, caravan park as well as a couple of holiday rentals.
A great place for a getaway to enjoy the big Mallee skies. Best to avoid the height of summer.

A quiet country town with a lovely lake called Lake...
A quiet country town with a lovely lake called Lake Lascelles, natural bush and Lake Corrong Station Homestead. There are quiet streets and a small number of shops including a supermarket. On a clear night the stars are brilliant and a short drive out of town could offer photographers good opportunities for night photography.

i liked the convince of being in town to all in walking...
i liked the convince of being in town to all in walking distance.
The corner cafe had the best hamburgers we have eaten in a long time.
It was beautiful down on the lake with too sit and have lunch!
