Great location to Bayers Lake shopping and restaurants. Clean room, towels were to the fluffier side. Staff were friendly and pleasant. We did not take part in the continental breakfast as my husband is not a fan of such. So we visited elsewhere for breakfast. Our bed was very comfortable. Very quiet hotel.

We stayed a full day in Halifax our first day in Nova Scotia...

We stayed a full day in Halifax our first day in Nova Scotia and the last evening and half day as well. The riverwalk and businesses and places to visit were very worthwhile our time. The riverside dining was a very nice atmosphere. As with most places there was more to do than we had time to do. One could make a week vacation just out of Halifax. The reason this relatively short time in Halifax worked for us was the primary purpose of our trip was Acadian French genealogy tracing in Windsor, Grand Pre', and Annapolis Royal. Halifax was a good point of origin and departure for our trip.

Halifax is a very nice city.

Halifax is a very nice city. We went to the Citadel with free entrance fees for the summer where we saw the noon cannon fired and our adult sons took a short lesson on how to fire shots with the musket; went to the Fairview Lawn Cemetery to pay our respects to the victims of Titanic; walked along the vibrant waterfront, where we had a nice seafood dinner at the Waterfront Warehouse and yummy ice-cream in waffle cones at Cow's. We also took a fun tour at Alexander Keith's Brewery with lots of beer samples! Halifax is also not too far of a drive to Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg where Bluenose II is normally stationed. We quite enjoyed being in Halifax and we'll definitely visit again in the future!

I've been to Halifax many times and it never disappoints me. Family entertainment and adult nightlife are great and the restaurants are diverse and a culinary delight. AND FRESH seafood!! We also enjoyed a day at Long Lake where we went kayaking and paddleboarding. My family made lots of great memories.

We haven’t been to Halifax for 50 years.

We haven’t been to Halifax for 50 years. Some changes were great like the waterfront boardwalk, however, prices of housing, etc., have increased dramatically as has the traffic. Not an easy city to get around anymore.

We spent one day in Halifax.

We spent one day in Halifax. We stared our day early at the opening of the halifax citadel. Get there early as there is only 80 parking spots. There were plenty of fun activities there. I spent 25$ and got to shoot an Enfield black powder gun 3 times. There was a signal gun shot at 12 pm. Currently there are military bands staying at the citadel and you can see them practice, and they perform at 1230pm. We then drove to one of the major parking lots at the boardwalk. It was closed due to a stage being up up. My advice is to look up a parking garage and park there. Don't bother with parking lots because the traffic is crazy cramped and busy. We ended up in a parking garage on the top 8th floor with like 3 spots left. this was around 1pm on a Monday. The boardwalk has gone down in niceness. The restaurant i took my group from Australia was closed down.

Our intentions were to fly into Halifax and get picked up by my sister that lives in Parrsboro, but we ended up staying two days in Halifax by the waterfront tomorrow we are off to see my sister in Parrsboro . Just wish it wasn’t so expensive on the waterfront to eat. They charge premium for everything which is not affordable for everyone.
