AWWW all the staff was so nice in this Hotel. We bring our two dogs and we stay in this hotel for a week. They were so friendly with our dogs and gave them treats! Before we arrived, the staff prepared dog treats, dog bowls, and dog beds for us in the room! The room is so clean and tidy, the location is wonderful and convenient and the view is perfect from the room. We can't wait back to this hotel next year!!!

Great atmosphere. Perfect location. Lots of space in our room. Book’s available to read was a nice touch. Bedding and towels and robes were of good quality and very clean.

We had a double queen bed room for a party of 3 people for a one night stay in St. John's. The room was nicely decorated, very spacious and clean (I am very picky about hotel cleanliness) as was the bathroom, great shower. Property was spectacular with a unique rock design and vibe. The location and walking distance to Water Street/Duckworth Street /George Street only minutes away was perfect. We didn't eat here so no comment on restaurant nor did we make use of the pool or fitness area. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Breakfast menu, all personnel very friendly and professional. Overall the hotel is a great value! There's no airport shuttle but with cab fare you're still saving over the so-called 'airport area' hotels.

We LOVED this hotel. From the cleanliness to the super helpful staff and the manager, Lynn was amazing. We will make it a point to stay here and even check out other Hiltons when traveling just from this amazing experience alone. The rooms were so big and clean and had a perfect layout. For someone who stays in a lot of hotels, this exceeded expectations by far.

The BEST BnB we stayed in Newfoundland! Everything met and exceeded our expectations. The properties is very well maintained with tasteful decorations and spacious guest rooms. Our beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the big and bright bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. Mary made us delicious breakfast, and we enjoyed our conversations with Robert! We will definitely come back and stay again!

Newfoundland is wonderful, St John's is not .

Newfoundland is wonderful, St John's is not . Apart from seeing the Rooms and the whale at MUN there is little to see. Water street is a horrible tourist mess, especially the grotty and expensive pubs. George street is.even worse with all the pseudo-Irish blarney and drunkards and panhandlers. I would give it one day for sightseeing and stay out in the small towns and outports which are far more interesting. We were here for a month in all, eight days in St John's. It should have been thirty days outside the city and one in.

We enjoyed visiting all the highlights of St. John's, especially the small communities, ie: Petty Harbour, Quidi Vidi. We also visited Cape Spear, The Rooms, Signal Hill. We walked Duckworth St., Water St. and George St.

St. John's has great history and nature to see and explore! The people are friendly, can be quirky, fun and helpful!! Plan on exploring the slightly hilly streets and sights in comfortable shoes! :) Quidi Vidi, "The Rooms", Signal Hill, Cape Spear, Water street, Pub and music nights, Jelly bean row, Food and drink at Bannerman brewery, possibly at the Fish exchange, delicious fish tacos and 1892 beer at Quidi Vidi brewery!...a few suggestions

St. John's, Newfoundland is seriously underrated and it deserves way more attention than it gets. The views are unlike anywhere else I've traveled, with colorful row houses tumbling down toward the harbor and dramatic coastal cliffs just minutes away. Between the natural beauty, the welcoming people, and the lively downtown, it's an easy place to fall in love with.

This was our second visit to St John's and we were blessed with lovely weather. If you enjoy history, hiking and live music then you will enjoy St John's. Make sure you visit The Rooms. A great place for a drink or a meal with fabulous views over the town.

St John's (and Newfoundland in general) economy is strongly based on tourism, and the tourism season apparently begins after the May long weekend. It seems the best time to visit Newfoundland is late May/early June. At that time of the year most facilities (tourist bureaus, restaurants, accommodations) are open. It's also a better time to see whales, icebergs, puffins, etc.

We loved everything. The breakfast was incredible and the property was unique, perfectly located, and gorgeous. Mary was welcoming, helpful, and took such good care of us. Her warmth and kindness made us feel at home. Robert was a gracious host and had excellent recommendations for what to see and where to eat. We had a fabulous time and can’t wait to return to Newfoundland where we will absolutely stay at The Ryan Mansion.

It's an excellent value for money as it's probably the cheapest option in downtown St. John's for a room, drip coffee set and a bath of one's own. No major downsides but I don't expect much luxury for this price. To the price I'd add the need to pay for parking across the street (close enough), was about 17 CAD a night.
