United StatesFor a change of pace we decided to start our Bernina Express Tour from Tiefencastel. We reserved this hotel and couldn’t have been more delighted! An extraordinarily nice hostess- such a warm welcome after such a long day of traveling! The Hotel Albula & Julier is classic historical hotel in a beautiful Swiss village. Our room was spacious with a sitting area overlooking the river. Very comfortable and cozy with lovely linens and the river singing to us. Everyone we encountered were exceptional and attentive in spite of how busy the place was. Our hostess reserved us a lovely spot in the dining room. The woodwork and atmosphere is exceptional and so is the food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Swiss specialties plus an excellent game menu. We have added this one to our list of special places and are looking forward to returning and a longer stay!

The village of Filisur is a beautiful, traditional Swiss...
The village of Filisur is a beautiful, traditional Swiss mountain village. It is easily connected to the world by the Rhaetian Railway and frequent bus service. Ideal center for traveling in the area. Train service is hourly. There is also a short train ride to Davos Platz (hourly). Nearby Bergun has more facilities (and an interesting railway museum), and also a lot more traffic through town. Filisur has only one food market and two small hotels.

Friendly pension with slightly old-fashioned rooms, a short walk downhill and a steep walk back uphill from Filisur station. There's a cheerful restaurant with local and Thai dishes, and good pizza. Breakfast was nice. We needed a twin room and could separate the beds on wheels easily. The village is nice for a stroll down the main road with lovely old farmhouses, and into the fields and forest beyond.

The owner was so kind and give some information about this small town. The water in filisur is super fresh. The best water I ever have. It's a quite and sweet town. Enjoy very much.
