the hotel's location was central and close to train station which was important for us because we were going to catch Bernina Express early in the morning. Room was clean and very big. I wasn't expecting that big room. The staff was very nice, special thanks to Brazilian lady on the reception. :) she was always smiling and friendly. Just a quick tip, some of the rooms doesn't have private bathroom. I didn't realize that while making a reservation. Thanks to the staff they remind me before the day we arrive Chur and easily changed our room to with a private bathroom one.

Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland. It is surrounded by mountains and has a gondola in walking distance. The city is small enough to walk around, has many old buildings, a festive atmosphere with all the flags, as well as good restaurants with street fronts.

Chur is a starting point for the Bernina Express and a major stop on the Glacier Express route. We managed both journeys from there. The town has an interesting history and is very pleasant to wander around. It has a less intimidating feel to it than bigger cities - we arrived in the middle of a local festival parade which celebrated all the local villages which look to Chur as the main town.

Chur is a small town and not much to do in itself but lively on Saturday nights -- seems a lot of people were out in the old town streets. We got there to take Bernina express train, and then go to Zurich.

The city of Chur was good, the accommodations were in a great location but so sparse and minimal we didn’t stay. It is furnished like a youth hostel. Not for seasoned travelers who expect good lodging.

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and...

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and Bernina Express / Red line. We completed both trips which were spectacular. We also took the train to Arosa for 30 CHF return. Chur has some nice old buildings, plenty of restaurants and shops, and the local museums are interesting and free with the guest card from the hotel.

This town is so quaint.

This town is so quaint. I used to live here and it is a beautiful place with both small city and nature easily accessible. I had coffee at Kaffee Klatsch, walked through the old town, met a friend for lunch at Restaurant Frohsinn and walked up Kreuzgasse to see old neighbors and an amazing view of the Calanda mountain. Don't skip a beautiful walk through the forest at Fürstenwald.

One night stay as we were catching the Bernina Express in the morning. The hotel and room was modern and clean and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We walked from the ststion, which took around 20 minutes. Obviously, we ate at McDonald's! Unfortunately, we arrived in the dark - DB train from Germany to Switzerland was late 😢- but in the morning, Chur looked very pretty and if we had time, worth exploring. The Bernina Express was amazing. We would stay here again.

We were a bit disappointed with Chur itself and this may be reflected in my feelings. It was rather like a hostel and going up three flights at our age was challenging (however they dis say there was no lift). Chur itself lacked OK eating facilities so Macdonalds it was. However it was an interesting place with an interesting history and on the bottom floor a smokers' room, one of only three in Chur. Given the cost of hotels I suppose it was value for money

Location 10 minutes walk from main Chur train station. Hotel is very clean. Some rooms are cramped, but I already knew that.There are sufficient toilets and showers to share. This hotel qualifies for the Chur guest card which got me a free swim at nearby Sand open air pool and gives other perks - have to ask for the card, 2nd time staying here, appears a reluctance to give this card. Breakfast is good 7-10.

Unfortunately in Chur for a very short overnight stay in preparation for the Bernina Express the next morning. Lovely hotel and staff. Comfortable spacious rooms and a good breakfast.
