Cielo Azul was amazing! Would absolutely stay again. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the food was delicious, accommodations clean. The location in Tilaran is great as well. Most of Costa Rica is 1 lane roads, so travel can be slow. Tilaran places you about 1.5 hours from many beautiful locations: La Fortuna, MonteVerde, Volcan Tenorio National Park, Palo Verde National Park, each with its own different microclimate and ecosystem. Lake Arenal itself, where Tilaran is located, is beautiful and has many great activities and food.

I booked last minute because I missed the bus to La Fortuna. I woke up with stunning views of the hotel and beautiful surroundings. The room is very clean with AC and fridge, coffee machine and table, it has hot water!!! Love everything, regret that I was unable to stay longer. Will come back and highly recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place to enjoy the nature

We really loved our stay here — such a peaceful, quiet place surrounded by beautiful nature. The sunsets were amazing, and it honestly felt like home. Beautiful quiet area 25 min from Santa Elena. Victor was gracious and helpful. His wife prepared a fabulous breakfast for us. The room was beautiful, including a rocker and couch. Very cozy!
