Booked this last minute as we were looking to overnight on a long drive and not sure how far we would get. Self check in was super easy. The two apartments we rented were spacious, there was a very well equipped kitchenette with a big fridge and freezer which was much appreciated as we had some supplies in an ice box and were able to keep them cool and refreeze the cooling elements overnight. Beds were quite comfortable, choice of pillows is a nice plus and bathroom roomy and new. The pizza place at the gas station across the road was surprisingly good and very friendly and the bakery the next morning as well. Perfect place to overnight, can’t say anything about staff as we didn’t see any. Also can’t say anything about Amtzell itself as we went straight back onto the motorway the next morning.

Lovely old hotel in the historic area. Very nice and helpful host. Authentic interiors and furniture. Comfortable bed. Reliable internet. Good shower. Good deli and super in a few steps.

Huge comfortable room. SUPER friendly and helpful staff (best of our whole vacation). Delicious breakfast for a modest fee featuring GREAT homemade museli yogurt.

Excellent hotel! Spacious, clean, quiet room. Very pleasant staff. Very good and varied breakfast, even with children's dishes. Free parking. The hotel has a relaxation area and gym. About 5 minutes walk from supermarkets and shops. Highly recommended!

Gasthaus Hirsch is cosy and friendly, the lady was very welcoming. Our rooms were very clean, decent and spacious. Breakfast was good, but not excellent. Parking was free and very close to the main entrance.

Wonderful place, and good food. This is rural Germany and not everyone here speaks English, although I had a fantastic time attempting to speak my beginning German with the Innkeeper.
